Bad experiences with GemWebhost.com

Posted by Faris Aziz, 09-08-2009, 10:07 PM
Hello , I'm going to share my experiences with Gemwebhost.com . I have a game fansite which have 500+visitors daily and i could not afford a VPS at that time to host my sites . I was browsing through FreeWebSpace and found that they have the most reliable costs and support . I would usually trust a host via its 24/7 Support , Uptime and the pricing as now there are so many trick about ZERO OVERSELLING . Last edited by Faris Aziz; 09-08-2009 at 10:10 PM.

Sorry for your issues, but It looks like your expectations were a little high for a $4/mo reseller. Regardless some of those issues are unacceptable.

I'm sorry to hear about your poor web hosting solution experience. I do hope your next host treats you like a client should be treated. I do think you get what you pay for with 'most' companies but not all. Remember to do alot of research about the company and not only WHT but search engines as well. Best of luck to you!

Ok thank you for your comment For people who are looking for reseller , please dont try gemwebhost . Try get the more well known such as Hostgator etc because your files are documents will not be safe in hosting such as gemwebhost hands .

All the issues you experience have the same cause: Overselling. If i'm in the market to look for a shared hosting account, i would not host my website on a VPS. It doesn't matter how people advertise about cloud hosting / failover / infrastructure consolidation, i would prefer to host website on a dedicated server rather than a VPS.

Well yah . VPS gets overloaded easily . Dedicated server could stand and hold much more accounts.

I use Gemwebhost reseller account for about 6 months. First 2 months were OK. After the test period I transfered some of my sites there and the headaches started. Their servers are overfilled. Most of the time they work slow, everyday sites are unreachable for couple of hours. I even lost one of my clients because of them. After couple of complaints, and almost a month they replied that "now their problems are solved", but the next day it was down again...so was today and still overcrouded. sincere advice to evryone DON'T USE GEMWEBHOST, unless you maybe want a special account for punishing custumers that don't pay on time I am still trying to find a decent low-cost reseller account for small websites I design, since I prefer to have separate accounts for all custumers, even if they don't use more than one email and have only 100 monthly visitors to their site. any suggestions?

Sorry to hear about your experiances, But i do think your expected to much from that plan, Overselling hosts + so called unlimited plans = major problems. Theirs many reilable hosts out their, Just a shame their not one! Regards
