Who will choose reseller hosting ?!!! Are they stupid??? ok! I want to known what is the value of reseller hosting? could u tell me?? thanks!

Hi, Basically, with reseller hosting you can create cPanel accounts and resell them. With regular hosting, you only get one cPanel account and no reselling. That's the basics anyways, there are other advantages as well.

As the above comment stated, there is a lot more to Reseller Hosting then just resources and price!

You can find reseller hosting starting with $10 / month to anywhere between $40. depending upon the features / OS / level of support.

I think Hostgator goes over the hill with their costs, but however, you get free WHMCS and DDoS protection. (which is unique) I'd recommend choosing another company for reseller hosting tough.

Do you have prior experience with HostGator? Actually, their costs are pretty much an industry standard for Reseller Hosting.

There are many other hosting available which can provide DDOS support and also reliable services at cheaper rates.

I used them a year ago for testing purposes, wasn't really happy.

Do you want to host your own websites or resell hosting?

Posted by respite, 09-18-2010, 08:22 AM
Many years back before I started reseller hosting, I wasn't able to find anything wrong with them. Thats not to say that they are perfect but I can't find anything wrong with that. I had some concerns like the inability to generate CSR's for my own customers and requesting everything etc, Everyone has an opinion when it comes to stuff like pricing, and things I mentioned above.

I try to stand the user's perspective, because if you are reseller hosting of others hosting provider, you cannot provide more source than you provider(in this example, you never provide unlimited space such as hostgator to users), why clients do not choose hostor but you ?? do u known my mean? sorry for my broken english.

Whether you want to host different websites or resell hosting, reseller account makes lot of sense as each customer's requirements can be handled independently and you can even give the control to the customer, if required.

Many reseller providers enable you to oversell your disk space and bandwidth in the sense you can offer unlimited packages at your choosing, the packages don't always mean you want to sell webhosting to beat your competition alot of them could be webdesigners offering a small hosting package with a local business along with the webdesign they just made.

Where does it state that Hostgator provides protection against an DDOS? As far as I know, Hostgator is located within ThePlanet Datacenter. ThePlanet will put your server behind Cisco Guard and they will null route the IP as soon as the DDOS attack get's above a particular limit they set. The protection they offer is also temporary so if you get too many DDOS attacks against the same Server in a small period of time, they will refuse to put you behind Cisco Guard and just null route your IP. Shared Hosting with real DDOS protection will cost way more then 7 USD.

I sincerely beg to differ with you on this one. A host offering a 30GB plan for $7.99 would have to be overselling by huge numbers just to break even, not even considering making a profit. As in every aspect of the retail and service industries, you get what you pay for!

Not necessary it is over selling. Please do not come to come to conclusion before using services. We are Indian based organisation and we can afford at 7.99.
