Suggest me master reseller

Posted by ModelWebHost, 08-23-2010, 12:24 PM
Hi. I have already a hosting company that I am running on a reseller plan but now I want to move one step forward. I want to purchase a master reseller plan having At least 50 Gb SpaceUnlimited Bandwidth (Acceptable at least 300 Gb)Control Panel: Cpanel/WhmUptime must be 99.99%Company should be at least 2 years oldMy budget is a max of 20$/Month24x7 SupportCan transfer all my websites from old host Please suggest me best hosting company having these.

Posted by XeHSean, 08-23-2010, 12:55 PM
You may need to raise your budget just a drop. Are you looking for a host in the US or Pakistan?

Posted by ModelWebHost, 08-23-2010, 12:57 PM
I can pay a max of 25$. I am looking a host in US.

Posted by XeHSean, 08-23-2010, 01:08 PM
25 is a bit better. The main thing that you may be having trouble with is your disk space / bandwidth requirements. You should be fine with a $25 budget though

Posted by ErnieQ, 08-23-2010, 01:17 PM
I think you should be good with a 20.00 budget.. Have you explored the option of a vps?

Posted by ModelWebHost, 08-23-2010, 01:22 PM
Yes. I reviewed my last post and think that 20$ is too much enough for master reseller because above this a vps can also be purchased. Members please help me to find out the host.

Posted by ErnieQ, 08-23-2010, 01:25 PM
You can see master reseller offers here: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=130 And VPS offers here: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=104

Posted by XeHSean, 08-23-2010, 01:30 PM
Although you can get a VPS in the $20 range, it will likely be a low-end VPS without cPanel/WHM. I'd strongly recommend that you look into a reseller plan if you are looking to enter the reseller hosting industry.

Posted by Johnn, 08-23-2010, 03:50 PM
Another issue you may want to note before signing up with any company for a "master reseller": one of the companies that makes one of the two popular master reseller scripts was just sold at http://flippa.com. Not sure what will become of them now. John

Posted by ErnieQ, 08-23-2010, 03:53 PM

the price seem to low but enough for very small budget whmphp on cost $7/montly i already have a reselle account with 75 GB i just need some review about WHMPHP would be nice or ZamFoo

Posted by XeHSean, 08-23-2010, 06:35 PM
WHMPHP, ZamFoo, and WHMReseller are all master reseller scripts that essentially perform the same functions - they allow you to host reseller accounts under your reseller account. This is a very valuable tool to start-up businesses because essentially you can sell one reseller plan and begin making profit!

Posted by KzN-Kane, 08-23-2010, 08:42 PM
ok so if i got a regular reseller account(only Cpanel) with that i able to sell WHM right?how much?

Posted by ErnieQ, 08-23-2010, 08:47 PM
With a regular reseller account you can sell regular web hosting accounts. If cPanel is offered then it would include cPanel. With this plan you get access to WHM not your clients.

Ok. I am still learning here but can't decide so far. I have selected jixhost.com but worry about their support uptime and customer here. I need some good reviews about them.

All are old reviews about 2008. I need fresh reviews.

Posted by Matthew_B, 08-24-2010, 04:25 AM
To be honest Master / Alpha resellers aren't really worth it, I used to provide it on all 3 platforms, Zamfoo, WHMPHP, and WHMReseller. They are all terrible, very buggy and are honestly not worth the money. WHMPHP - Resellers disappear. WHMReseller - Slow, and resellers disappear. Zamfoo - Ugly, Slow and sometimes non-responsive. In the end you will loose more customers than you will gain.

Posted by XeHSean, 08-24-2010, 11:20 AM
Try search WHT for reviews on jixhost

Posted by KzN-Kane, 08-24-2010, 02:07 PM
so its no good at di end

Posted by XeHSean, 08-24-2010, 04:20 PM
I can't comment on WHMPHP or Zamfoo but many of the bugs have been resolved in the latest version of WHMReseller

Posted by KzN-Kane, 08-24-2010, 04:42 PM
aight thanks so i will try it

Posted by JixHost, 08-24-2010, 08:17 PM
ZamFoo and WHMPHP are working nicely for us/our clients. WHMreseller did have the ongoing problem of resellers loosing rights when we had used it in the past.

Posted by XeHSean, 08-24-2010, 08:44 PM
Yes we had similar issues with v2. Since upgrading to v3, we have had no such problems

Posted by Johnn, 08-24-2010, 08:51 PM
As regards to the comments by "Tiger-Matt" above: It would be good if you had posted *when* you made these negative experiences. The "master reseller" scripts, especially the now two most popular ones, are only on the market for a rather short time! And the fact that one of them (ZamFoo) was just auctioned away for a minor amount of cash, as mentioned, suggests that the scripts themselves have not yet found its market. We will see if that changes or not. But from the perspective of a host, there is at least a good potential for more business ... that is, *if* there are no major bugs now. John

Posted by Matthew_B, 08-25-2010, 03:19 AM
To be honest, they are all still buggy. Only stopped doing WHMPHP Master Resellers about 1 month ago, we also used Zamfoo a couple of months ago too and didn't like that. And at the end of the day it's just a way to oversell, you have in the end very little controll over the resellers they create.

Posted by KMyers, 08-25-2010, 09:02 AM
Matt,

Posted by Matthew_B, 08-25-2010, 09:16 AM
Yes, true, but its just allot harder to manage, and if it was really worth doing this Master Reseller thing, cPanel would already have done it.

Posted by XeHSean, 08-25-2010, 01:03 PM
Larger, more established companies have the ability to manage "harder" setups. Take a look at all of the hosting providers offering "unlimited" disk space and bandwidth for less than $5 - it is the same principle.

Posted by KzN-Kane, 08-25-2010, 02:30 PM
if i only one people so sell Cpanel hosting is it Master or Alpha whats the difference? any info on that before i start my thing

Posted by JixHost, 08-25-2010, 08:12 PM
Alpha can sell -> Master, Reseller and shared accounts. Master can sell -> Reseller and shared accounts. Reseller can sell -> Shared accounts. I hope this clears it up abit.

Posted by KzN-Kane, 08-25-2010, 10:04 PM
so apha reseller is the **** thanks

Posted by XeHSean, 08-26-2010, 12:07 AM
Alpha reseller hosting is often not recommended because it is extremelly hard for a provider to effectively maintain. If you are looking for reliable hosting, you may be better off with either regular reseller hosting or master reseller hosting from a reputable provider

I finally purchased master reseller from jixhost.com. Problems occurred in the beginning and till now. Now, see that what they will do in future. One thing I am observing here that we have to ask everything to jixhost.com they never give fully functional panels. I will write an honest review of jixhost.com soon. Till that, what they do with me.

To 'jamshed_11946': jixhost.com uses "ZamFoo" -- that is the script & one man company that was just sold. John

Posted by KMyers, 08-26-2010, 11:42 AM
Yes, as you already pointed out in the first page of the post - Are you trying to accomplish something (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showpo...40&postcount=9) besides inflating your post count?

Posted by JixHost, 08-26-2010, 11:57 AM
We use ZamFoo and WHMPHP like hundreds of other hosts. Out of all the master plugins available, they are all owned by single individuals.

Posted by Johnn, 08-26-2010, 11:59 AM
To clarify: companies get sold for a reason, if they get sold for a rather minor amount of cash (very minor in this case). The circumstances of why this programmer gave up on this project were all listed by himself on the auction site. QUOTE: >> We use ZamFoo and WHMPHP like hundreds of other hosts. >> Out of the master plugins available, they are all owned >> by one person. Please clarify this claim. John

Posted by KMyers, 08-26-2010, 12:07 PM
A) How do you know the amounts? B) How do you know the reason? I know the developer (of ZamFoo) personally and do know the reason. It is NOT what you have posted above, it is MUCH more then that. A Sale of a script is not a bad thing and has a massive potential to grow,

Posted by JixHost, 08-26-2010, 12:07 PM
Can you please elaborate on "never giving functional panels" I'm personally looking at your chat history and tickets and see you every 5 - 15 minutes badgering the techs about your migration. Your sarcasm and attitude to our techs is concerning to me and will not be tolerated for much longer. Please decide how you would like to act and what you would like to do, before I make that decision for you. Jose Last edited by JixHost; 08-26-2010 at 12:13 PM.

Fron the "ask" amount -- as I looked at this before it was sold. The amount it was sold would not be above the "ask". Look at other ongoing auctions and you will see. It was all given in evey detail by the developer .. maybe still is there, I have not re-checked. ADD: >> A Sale of a script is not a bad thing and has >> a massive potential to grow Yes, but only if the development is continued at all. Last edited by Johnn; 08-26-2010 at 12:19 PM.

A lot of options was missing. Even at the first day of purchase, Create a new account option was missing then fantastico created problems. Now, almost problem has been resolved but still there is no option to create reseller. Hope they will enable this.

Posted by JixHost, 08-26-2010, 12:22 PM
I spoke to the developer, Kevin as I was considering to purchase ZamFoo. I know the revenue it earns and history, it was also published openly. I did not buy it as I am not a programmer and to hire one would cost me more then I wanted to invest.

Posted by JixHost, 08-26-2010, 12:27 PM
You create resellers by using the ZamFoo software. If you don't know how to use the software, please ask us rather then blaming it on the server, host, the weather or whatever besides yourself.

I am not saying that you got. I asked them to restore a backup of my site that is of only 8.9 mb. Once they asked we are doing then no reply came. After two hours I come again then they said that there was server error please wait. after 3.5 hours I come 3rd time and they said that we have restored when I checked, site was not restored. Now they are replying me too fast.

Posted by PowerDot, 08-26-2010, 12:47 PM
This is asking for problems; only a sub-reseller with in the mind to selling his business at the near future can provide this.

Posted by daddygo, 08-29-2010, 06:35 AM
Many hosting service providers offer master reseller hosting. If you are serious about this I would advice a VPS or dedicated server. In my opinion I wouldn't like any of my sites hosted on a server that offered master reseller accounts.

Posted by XeHSean, 08-29-2010, 07:41 AM
Out of curiosity, why not? There are quite a few reputable providers that offer very reliable master reseller services. Further, there are many reasons why a reseller plan in general would be a much better solution for a user than a VPS or dedicated server

Posted by VPSFARM, 08-29-2010, 09:14 AM
People who sell master reseller account's! Will end up selling on or going out of buisness within a few months garunted. Its easier if you just go and get a vps. even if people are unsure how to manage it. there are quite a lot of How-To's on google.

Try https://k-disk.net/ or http://theprimehost.com Don't do cheap or you may pay more in the long run.

Up your budget to around 30$/month and you can probably get a vps server. I would personally recommend 6sync they're the most solid VPS host in my opinion plus they always have specials. Go check them out in the VPS hosting offers section. The most down time I had with them was about 7 minutes.

Can anyone else confirm this ? I haven't heard any single report about disappearing resellers. We have been selling whmphp since 1.5 years. As the developer of whmphp script, I can guarantee that whmphp won't auto-delete the reseller username from its database. You have to delete it either by editing the database file manually or terminate the reseller from the admin interface. Please also note that there is no provision for "deleting" the reseller username from whmphp database using the admin panel. You can only "terminate" the reseller account which will delete the reseller username from whmphp database as well as terminate the reseller account(s) on server. All these actions are logged and you can see the log from your admin panel. WHMReseller had this "disappear resellers" issue long back and whmphp was developed to overcome this issue. So I can't simply accept your statement regarding this. If you had a ticket regarding this issue with us ( though I don't remember it ) please let me know the ticket id so that I can check it. Thank you

Posted by ModelWebHost, 09-13-2010, 09:27 PM
OK. I created a support ticket about php memory problem that caused too much problems for my customer's website who are using wordpress. Your tech solve the problem for one domain and then problem occurs for other domains. Till now 20 days has been passed and the problem has not been solved. I am continuously loosing customers. And now you should not say that you are posting here without contacting support. I think it's too much to solve a problem. Other things are working perfectly.

Posted by JixHost, 09-13-2010, 09:38 PM
What is your ticket number?

Posted by ModelWebHost, 09-13-2010, 09:52 PM
View Ticket #914006

Posted by JixHost, 09-13-2010, 10:01 PM
Upon review of your ticket I see it is in reference to particular 3rd party WP plugins you are adding. Since its our policy to not provide support on forums, please submit a new ticket with the specifics on those plugins that are causing the issue. As always we will do our best to support open source scripting, but understand there will be limitations as we do not develop them.

Dear Jixhost Last time you solved php memory problem on just my one post. Now, server speed is too much slow. All sites are loading too slowly. All the customers are saying that sites are facing 503 errors. Please solve this problem.

Posted by JixHost, 09-19-2010, 06:24 PM
I'm sorry, again we can not provide support on forums. Feel free to update your ticket with any new issue/s
