In any case - you will need to get a ddos protection. My suggestion - start googling...

if there ddosing the server then its a little late has they already have the ip, you would need a hardware firewall. If you changed ip address then you can only mitigate at software level using iptables and possibly cloudflare. Ideally you want a ddos protected host though.

Get DDOS protection or get a DC with DDoS protection... else you will keep having these issues.

depends on the size and type of the attack. We do host many hundreds of those servers (tf2 & csgo) and we know that particular times ddos attacks targeting those are quite strong (up to 25gbit)... these requires datacenter collaboration (filtering/acl) other times they are just small syn flood that requires skilled tuning/firewalls but do not need datacenter collaboration. If you are not running many servers it's probably easier for you to just move your services to someone who focus on gameservers and already have all the know how and the setup to handle such attacks

Might want to take a look at: https://www.intreppid.com/ They are in essence staminus, we use them for other type of ddos protection ( as well as blacklotus.net ) , pretty good guys. The good thing about intreppid is that gaming servers is their niche. Good luck

DDoS attacks are something which cannot be completely prevented however, there are some simple precautionary steps which may secure your servers: [1] Generally, DDoS attacks target the system which is less secure, does not have any security component installed, using outdated applications, etc. Hence, keep everything up-to-date in your system (like install OS updates and security patches), install any anti-virus application and scan your system regularly. [2] If your game server application allows to change the listening port then you can configure a different port other than its default one. [3] As you mentioned that you have Windows & Linux servers, you can install and configure Firewall (software level) in your servers and only allow required port connections. [4] Secure your servers by limiting the incoming connections. You can dig into system logs and if you find any similar patterned IP then you can deny access to it from Firewall / other security tool. [5] If you are using DNS server in your servers then protect it by clearing root hints, disabling recursion, etc. [6] You should also try any third party DDoS protection service which will secure your system and helps you to fight against DDoS attacks.

Dealing with DDoS Attacks to provide a reliable UDP DDoS Mitigation is not really that easy, you might find solutions for this, but the ones that will work, will cost you probably way above your budget for the type of activity you are working in.
