Difference between Haswell and Ivy Bridge

I'm looking for some information about CPU choices for a web server. The server is for a small number of dynamic PHP websites with high traffic. (+/- 10M page views/month) I believe an E3-1270 is fine, everything else being equal, and high end servers like the E5-2620 may be far more than I need. Basically, I'm looking for bang for the buck. My question is about the bus type and system bus. Is QPi v. DMI a valid comparison? Does that lack of a system bus make a difference? For example, 1270s have a DMI bus while the 1650 uses QPi like some much more expensive processors. OTOH the 1650 doesn't have a system bus. There are other differences (cores, e.g.) but assuming I never need more than 32GB RAM, is there an advantage for the E5-1650 over the E3-1270? In the scenario from the first paragraph are there other, better CPUs to consider?

QPi is useful if you have a dual CPU setup where one CPU needs to communicate with the other for processing data. Otherwise there are other factors you should consider like CPU clock speed, number of cores, etc. DMI is good enough for a single CPU setup
