What is wrong with mysql and mariadb?

Everytime i try to install mysql, mariadb shows up What is going on with mysql and mariadb? yum install mysql and shows installing mariadb

So how can i install mysql (and NOT mariadb)? I have a mysql server and need to connect to the server from a client

you can use your mysql databases with mariadb and you can connect from mysql clients to mariadb . mariadb basically will provide better performance compared to mysql and with your own mysql databases . Highest Regards Mohammed H

Yeah installed the mariadb as no option and it has the mysql client thanks
