Any risk of shutting of windows firewall on Windows 2008 R2? I typically shut it off but is their any risk associated with doing so? It blocks all the ports so it gets very annoying to deal with.

Of course I know about opening ports. But opening so many ports because multiple applications need them open is kind of a pain.
