webmin error
Posted by elvis1, 12-12-2009, 05:23 PM |
Hi guys! At the time of installing webmina pretty weird error popped up. I followed every single step of the tutorial and had install it before ( I would lie If I say that it was painless, but this time I got into it in about 5-10 min).
I got stuck in this pase.
yum install webmin
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
Config Error: File contains no section headers.
file: file://///etc/yum.repos.d/webmin.repo, line: 1
'me=Webmin Distribution Neutral\n'
what I get is :
Error - Bad Request
This web server is running in SSL mode. Try the URL https://vpZ.node(X).com:10000/ instead.I click on it and nothing happens. I modified some parts of the url to prevent bots from picking up data
Many thanks in advance

It sounds like the repository is set up incorrectly. You may want to just try starting over again. I haven't messed with Webmin in a long time so I am sorry I can't be more specific.

Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
Config Error: File contains no section headers.
file: file://///etc/yum.repos.d/webmin.repo, line: 1
'me=Webmin Distribution Neutral\n'

Hi, I can't really tell you how I fixed something that's 6 years old.
Are you following a determined tutorial? Is it updated?

I am sure the Epel repos have webmin packages that you can use to install webmin on your server.
