innohosting.com

Anyone here using innohosting.com? As they seem to have everything I want, but always have doubts when I recieve a support ticket response to my pre sales questions. The reason I have been looking at them is it would be good to have one host for my UK and USA hosting, they have free WHMCS licences and free support for my clients which may come in useful. So whats your thoughts on them (those who use them)? Have you had any problems and how quickly were they resolved. I dont ask my current host many questions but when I do they provide fast and friendly support, though it is costly for what you get and if you want add-ons.

There is a search button here, that you can use by putting in keywords like "innohosting" and "review". That is likely more useful than waiting for people to come here and serve you.

I have used Innohosting in the past. They are a good company. They also have great support. I would definitely recommend them.

Oh I never thought of that On a serious note I have looked at posts about them and there seem to be a few about downtime, lack of support respose and account suspension. So was looking for some up to date reviews from people using them right now. But I think I'll just go with my gut feeling and not risk it.

Not sure what you have to risk? Our service has been consistent for over seven years. In those seven years, of course we're going to receive some negative press, which company doesn't? We rarely have downtime, and when we do, in 99% of cases, they last just minutes. Be it a hardware issue or otherwise, we don't mess about, we resolve issues well, we resolve issues fast. Like you said, the reviews you've seen are old, and with the size of our customer base, if something is wrong, you can be sure you'll be hearing about it. That aside, we're very proud of our uptime, service provided and the quality it's provided at. Our tech support response times are instant, you can call technical support on the phone, hop onto live chat or open a ticket - 24x7. Obviously the decision is up to you, but to say you're risking anything, there really is no risk. If we were a fly by night company, I would understand, but not with a company that has provided a consistent service for such a long period, that has support accessible instantly and has a string of reviews describing the same high quality of service year after year.

Been with them for nearly 2 years and all I can say is they are a reliable company. Those occasional downtimes aren't a big deal since Google had its downtimes as well. Technical support tickets are generally responded to within an hour (~30 minutes average). No harm giving them a try.

risk" maybe a too stronger word, but when you are hosting sites for clients you have to be 110% confident in the company you are trusting thier sites with. As I only have one client on a USA server I may give that a try for a month or two and then if everything goes well then move my UK clients over as well.

Thank you for your reply, it has actually helped.

I have also used them over the years and currently have a reseller account with them. Naturally, the question is, WHEN the server has issues (all servers will eventually have an issue), how does your host handle it? InnoHosting has been very good at handling all issues (granted there aren't many issues because they do a good job behind the scenes). Hope that helps.

How long have they been in the IT industry?

Posted by JFSG, 01-04-2012, 06:50 AM
Since 2003?

Yup that's what their "About Us" page says: http://www.innohosting.com/about.htm

For the life of me I can't understand this inquisition into Innohosting! They've been around for nearly ten years and are as solid and professional as you can get!

I think what 'XTremo' and the rest of us are thinking... InnoHosting is a very qualified provider. Rest assured they are a safe bet and a good new home for your hosting accounts

the buzz about innohosting started the other day when their servers were down for 10+ hours. i experienced this with them. they did explain to me what the problem was, though I wasn't notified until 8 hours later when I was getting alerts. i have been very happy with them and their support. for all those people out there who want to explain to me that downtimes are natural and they will inevitably happen -- i know this. I think we all know this. it's the length of downtime that has people upset / concerned / questioning. like i said, they've been very solid and extremely responsive until the blip. i'm just glad my customer sites weren't mission critical. that would have been a problem...

It was just *one* server and not servers and updates were posted on our forums. Downtime for us is not common, while other providers experience days upon days of downtime, for us our customers are shocked that we had a blip in the first place. Just this one incident is a good example that people find it unusual that we experienced such downtime. That's how uncommon it is for us, that downtime lasting more than an hour is a huge thing. Considering we did have to perform a full restore of a server (including operating system and user files) from backups due to a hard drive fault, and there was zero data loss because we performed dual backups (both standard and R1Soft), the downtime length, relative to the issue was actually quite small. This was a major hardware failure that we fixed, and resolved in a very small amount of time. We handled it the best we could and I think we handled it exceptionally well. We have an awful lot of customers relying on the reliability of our servers, e-commerce sites that depend on our reliability for the owners to earn a living. With that kind of responsibility on our shoulders, you can be sure we work fast whenever there is an issue. But not just that, we always do our best to prevent it in the first place. Any provider, big or small is going to experience downtime. Be it a provider for mission critical websites or a budget web host, they will all, at some point have an extended downtime more than usual. Hardware fails, networks go down, regardless of what backup systems you put in place. It will happen at some point or another. Last edited by rv_irl; 01-05-2012 at 02:16 AM.

I agree Rameen. I know things happen. And I can't even imagine how much data you guys were dealing with to restore. Quite and undertaking I'm sure. As I said, I've been very pleased with the customer support and the performance of your hosting. You guys are very reliable. With all due respect, I have to say that even though it might have only been 1 server, but that was my reseller server, so one is enough. It's probably not practical, but a customer support announcement to your affected customers would have been great. Just saying... Thank you for all you guys do. Bob
