Are you having a managed dedicated server with your host? If it is managed then it would be better to consult them as you just received this server before 1-2 days. What is an operating system of this server?

Highly suggest you look into at Systems Management Offers as this could very time consuming and no one can provide few lines of command to fix your issues without look into your server.

LOL funny how moving host or finding manage services is the first recommendation the guy gets until someone that knows helped him instead.

Even if it's unmanaged if I'd just received the server from them and one of the RAID devices kicked read-only on me within 24 hours I'd be pitching all kinds of fits. Prefix with sudo if not root: That will show the drives that are members of /dev/md2 - like /dev/sda, /dev/sdb etc.. Then do this: Look for Power_On_Hours. That will tell you roughly how old the hard drives are (not perfectly, but close) Find out if you're running on old disks. The -a will also tell you if there are any recorded errors on the disk. Basically, it looks like you got a bad disk out-of-the-box, which happens about 5% of the time - so it's not really your host's fault unless they stuck you with old drives.
