Mcaffe siteadvisor showing site as suspicious

Hi I've started a new venture for providing different hosting services, the site is new around 3-4 months old, but i recently noticed that McAfee siteadvisor is showing my site as suspicious, my site is hosted on a dedicated server that just hosts WHMCS and my website on it, i've checked my site properly and even checked it using virustotal and found nothing, basically no other web scanning services showing anything bad about my site. I'm even offering two free softwares on my website (developed in-house), can these download cause issues? Since they are freeware (no adware or malware in them) they are not digitally signed etc... Can these free download cause this issue ? I've already contacted mcaffe but they will probably take their time to respond, so what do you guys suggest ? Is it normal for new sites to appear as suspicious ? Anybody have any experience with it ? Thanks

Sometimes McAfee are very paranoid. Just try check your site with other services.

Yes i've already checked with virustotal and norton safeweb, they are showing it as safe, the main problem is if any visitor is using mcaffe AV they will get a warning that my site is suspicious, so I'm trying to find out what is the best way to get that warning removed ? It's costing me a lot as clients thing that the site is not safe, even i did not noticed it untill i tried it from a PC with mcaffe AV Thanks

Without having a link to your site, it's hard to provide any solid advise, though: http://www.siteadvisor.com/howitworks/# Have you entered your domain in the search field (right hand side of the page)? Does anything useful come up?

This is what it shows: This link is suspicious. We tested it and found potential security risks. Be careful. Website Category: N/A my website link is serverssale . com Last edited by bear; 05-14-2015 at 08:24 AM.

False positives are a thing with mcafee. Try to resubmit your site through their siteadvisor process and you might want to submit to websense as well if their tool thinks it's a threat/uncategorized as well. Sometimes they go hand to hand and it's simply because they can't see the site category.

Follow up this process to resubmit your site's categorization with mcafee and give them a day afterwards. If you can share your link we can probably crawl a bit and see if there's anything odd.

ninja moves. thanks. @OP I checked your site and it is indeed missing a category with mcafee which makes the service think it's unverified and a threat on "normal protection" mcafee anti viruses/firewalls. Try the solution above and if that doesn't work feel free to send them a support email/ticket. Do have in mind that they can take a bit of time (days) to process the requests.
