Migrate Xen-HVM VMS ot KVM - Possible?

Hi, We use SolusVM with Xen HVM and a few Windows VMs on it. I'd like to plan a migration from XEN HVM to KVM? Is this possible and do you know the steps or a link to guide me? Thanks

Hi, You can use the LVM snapshot method to migrate the VPS. Details steps are pretty hard to explain due to more technicality involved in it. You can check the below guide as the underlying virutalization technology is to be considered. http://www.suse.com/documentation/sl...2kvmquick.html

You can give a try using dd or LVM snapshot to copy the disk from source VM to the target VM. Never tried the method between XEN-HVM and KVM; but it should probably work.

Hi, Those seems to be appropriately tested steps. Did you manage to get this done as expected? What issues you came across while doing this?
