If I have a reseller account, do I have to actually sell web hosting?

no, Several of my clients have reseller accounts simply to be able to keep all of their websites separate and easier to manage.

No, you don't have to sell web hosting if you don't want to.

If you have several websites or need the extra space then a reseller account might be what you need/the cheapest option for you. No-one is going to tell you what to do with your account

Many web designers keep a reseller account to host their websites and also sell web hosting as an extra money

If you create shared hosting, that mean you can sell if you want too. However, you will need a payment / billing system like whmcs.com to management your clients easily.

In short, no. What are you trying to do? Are you a designer? Why are you considering a Reseller account?

All these years I've been in hosting industry I have never heard this question. The answer is no you don't have to sell hosting if you own a reseller. Depending of terms of service you can give away hosting for free or even just give it to family members or friends.

Short answer is no. you can do whatever you do with your reseller account,resell space,give it for free

Reseller accounts are great for desingers or for companies that have multiple websites to manage. It is a little easier creating new separate accounts from WHM.

If you want to sell hosting buy reseller hosting If you want to host your multiple websites, but multi domain hosting

No you don't have to see hosting with a reseller account. Reseller accounts give you a bit more flexibility like if you have several domains to host you can set each domain up with its own cPanel. Some reseller accounts also come with added extras (like WHMCS, tutorials etc.) to help you sell hosting and if you are not going to sell hosting these added extras may not be required but they will be part of the cost of the reseller package.
