DDos attack dimensions? - Keeping Track ?

Do you guys have an idea of how many ddos attacks you receive on your network on average per month ... and what size ? , just wondering ... We usually receive minor attacks but yesterday we had one of the biggest ones we have seen , the info below is just partial information since it comes from 1 of our 3 scrubbing centers, but the attack we received yesterday summed 81Gbps accounting our 3 scrubbing centers, the biggest we've seen, the biggest we saw before this one was 54Gbps. This brings my question on the size of attacks you have been seeing lately on your networks ? Needless to say this attack took a big toll in our network while we applied mitigation to the affected prefix which usually is not the case on smaller attacks

Hehe, the lack of responses either means no one else is getting attacked or that nobody has an idea of the attack sizes

I get about 10-15 Layer 4 attacks a day which vary in duration and power. In regards to Layer 7 attacks, I have been constantly hit by them.

could be any ddos attack , usually we get volumetric ddos layer 4 attacks to different clients , but a ddos attack includes all types of attacks wether its a layer 4 or layer 7 attack Last edited by Postbox; 07-04-2015 at 10:01 PM.
