Resellerclub Web Hosting.. any reviews?

Posted by galaxyman_92, 01-24-2012, 07:13 AM
Hi! I already work in a hosting company, & I am thinking of starting my own hosting industry.. does anyone tried resellerclub webhosting after they made the changes?? I've seen many topics about reviewing RC but it is all dated 2005,2006,2008 .. but now things changed, in the past they were using a custom controlpanel & now they are using cPanel... so, any opinions ? ++++ goddady VS Resellerclub?? Please look here: http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy-a...w=1600&bih=805 I'd advise against using GoDaddy's hosting service, they do not have the best reviews on these forums. Further, they are a public supporter of SOPA

Previously until they were offering dedicated servers (which i have used) their services were fine, but later on when they stop selling dedi & VPS, i found their shared hosting services very poor. But now they are again planning to sell dedi servers ... If you wish to go for reseller hosting then buddy, in long term it will be very expensive to you, instead search some other reliable company.

Resellerclub is famous as a domain provider, not for hosting service. If they provide some kind of money back guarantee, you can try their service and share your review on WHT

Resellerclub do offer money back guarantee for 30 days on its hosting services, but i feel they oversell and also their in-house control panel is very outdated, that's why they are now switching to cpanel/plesk

Thats not a control panel they have.. is a lost panel:-)

Just wanted to address a few of the concerns on this thread - We do provide cPanel and Plesk with our Shared Hosting packages. We also recently launched Reseller Hosting which comes with WHM and WHMCS (Customers are given cPanel). @galaxyman_92 You're absolutely correct - we've made a lot of changes to our infrastructure as well. <> <> Last edited by anon-e-mouse; 02-28-2012 at 03:35 AM.

I have the feeling that they resell the hosting from withing directi plattform. No experience with resellerclub nor with directi hosting so I cannot say is bad or good...a test drive will show!

You are absolutely right. It seems it just launched , so This is not much review then.

Posted by Losvre, 01-30-2012, 07:46 AM
Anyone has used hosting provided within Directi to give us some feedback?

Posted by caisc, 01-30-2012, 01:02 PM
We have used their hosting services last time in year 2004 for few shared hosting accounts, was not satisfied at that time, currently we register domains in bulk with them for our clients. Before gng with them DO NOT forget to read their TOS and AUP for example - any script can not execute for more than 90 sec within shared hosting account But over a period of time they have updated and improved their services very much and that i appreciate.

Also they have just a few days ago launched multi domain hosting and WHM/cpanel reseller hosting.......(which in my view is too late) No you can yourself decide that how fast or slow they are going to keep pace with hosting industry. Hope they learn and react fast in future to keep ahead in market.

Thanks for your input caisc, I think I keep hosting control on my own:-)

Their support is very slow for Reseller Hosting.

Hi, im new to the site anyhow im with ResellerClub and well their response is fast i must say, i have been with a webinar of them and well there are new things coming. 1 multi domain windows hosting 2 new site templates in about 3 weeks from now 3 VPS hosting 4 Dedicated hosting 5 Cloud hosting 6 At this moment the Linux Reseller hosting has been rolled out. As my market is South America and Colombia i can say that its still a big market here from what i have seen. Also im a translator for the sofi site which is a open translation program from them so the site becomes in multiple languages, my part being Dutch and Spanish its still new here all these types of hosting and also expensive problem is that 90% does read English so i need to change everything in Spanish so duno time will tell of course but to me they are okay. but im thinking of using their API and some others and using my own site, depending on the new site layout that comes now.

I am a reseller, still I am. It is a good company. But their policy on web hosting is bad. I have ordered one unlimited hosting for my customer. He paid anually, so, I paid resellerclub the anual payment. They offer 30 days money back guarentee. So, after thirty days, the customer asked the refund. I said, the money back guarentee is over. Then the customer said, that's fine. you take two month price, and refund the rest. I paid that amount to the customer. Then I asked the refund to resellerclub. They did not refund. All the chat executives said blah blahs. So, tell me friends, is it fair..?

Almost all the above you mentioned there above were always part of directi reseller platform apart from resellers aka multi domain. How long have you been with them and can you be more specific about them being fast? Did you ever had any problem that solved quickly and right? Thanks

Hi, well not long a few months now, but you say that these things i mentioned where always part of the directi reseller platform but i have never seen them. the linux reseller platform was in beta and is now active so i presume it was never there. im not talking about the normal reseller of selling 1 domain name. im talking about 200 gig disk space with 4 TB data transfer reseller program that they have now. and more to come... anyhow i like it with them for now, but still im looking for new options when they are available. im using their site also now (yea i know its basic) until i have my other site up. i also found this one anyone has some good stories or bad about them. resellerspanel.com thx

Hi, As I mentioned above, I told resellerclub to take the charge of two months, and refund the rest.. They said a big "No". Is it fair..? Also I had heavy downtime, server not found problems... So, I am not recommending you their hosting.. I also had bad reviews for resellerpanel and several others. All of them are good, till you make a payment. After that even if you contact them for support, they will give you big urls to have research. Two days back, I had one hour chat with a "famous" company for a simple question.. They all will beat around the bush... but never answers quickly..

Hi, I currently use Reseller club, and have been with them since I believe 2002. I used to use them for domain registration only. Now I am using them for both and honestly am in the forums looking for a "faster" solution than provided by Reseller club. I think they are WONDERFUL for small sites, blogs and just your everyday website. And of course for their domain registration. Having said that, I have been building a Joomla solution with Jomsocial and a few other items integrated with it, and continually get time out errors. I have written to them, since my Control Panel has not been working correctly since the launch of their new Linux Reseller Account. I have not modified their standard templates. I used to be a hosting provider, using HSphere as a platform, then closed in 2005 due to health reasons. Since I was still with Directi, Reseller Club with my Domain Registration I thought I would try their Hosting as I knew they had been working on it, developing the resources/control panel for it. I though it would be a good way to wade into the hosting waters again slowly, so much has changed in the time I was away. When I started with them back in 2002 as directi, their owner I think his name was Bhavin (similar) was extremely dedicated and a really nice person, he cared, he addressed people's concerns personally, he was a person you wanted to do business with because of his dedication and vision. So like I said, it would be my recommendation to use them for the regular small websites. There are currently only 4 sites including mine on the server I am located on. I cannot get the production out of it to handle the Joomla solution with now less than 50 people registered on it. I will have considerable more than that, since I haven't launched my site or even added content, images to it yet. Please don't think I am "putting down" the services offered by them, in fact, quite the opposite. I am merely defining what I believe to be their best Niche in the marketplace at this time. Small, every day websites without too much demand.

FROM EXPERIENCE ON A RATING OUT OF 10 THEY GET A 3 (THREE OUT OF TEN) i)Very Slow Support ii)Answers to questions many times make no sense or are not relevant to the question. iii)They offer free WHMCS licences on WHM Hosting but what they don't mention is that you can only reissue your WHMCS licence key X2 (Twice) then they say they cannot do it again so should you decide to restructure your billing domain you may be in some trouble. iv)They assign you an account manager who seems to be the only person able to do anything for you regarding support, should this person be on leave or off work you will have to wait. One example we waited 2 weeks for a reply. v)If you need a restore done on an account in your WHM they say that this is only possible by them placing the backup of all your accounts into the home directory of each account, you can not choose an individual account, all of them are done together (not sure why). In any event you do not have access to the restore option for that type of backup which is done on the Dedicated Server WHM (Not available on the WHM Reseller area). vi)If you are looking for local support in UK/USA there isn't any as it is all located in Bombay which is fine if it was online 24/7/365 but in several cases the telephone numbers tell you there are no agents available or the online support is offline. We are in no way trying to damage the reputation of Reseller Club but rather give an honest response to our experiences we have had with them. Hope this helps you decide. Steve, first of all, we're sorry you feel this way and there are a few things we'd like to clarify here. We do offer multiple reissues for a WHMCS license key - all we ask for is a valid reason since it's a manual process and we want to make sure no one abuses the system. In your case, the reason is absolutely valid and your license can certainly be reissued. Also, you waiting 2 weeks for a reply is highly surprising. We have a large team of account managers and if your AM isn't available one of our other AMs will step in for that period. If you could forward a ticket ID/email conversations regrading that certain instance, we can investigate further. The WHM backup & restore options are requested by quite a few of our Resellers and we've built an internal tool for these requests. We're currently testing it and it should be live in a matter of days. Once its live, all you need to do is speak to your AM/raise a support ticket and a WHM backup/restore will be done by us. Also, about our Support, we do have 24x7x365 online as well as phone support. You might have been trying to reach our sales line - in any case all our support contact details are mentioned here http://www.resellerclub.com/live-sup...ocation=global Moreover, we've recently expanded our Support Team and put down processes to improve our response & resolution times. If you could share any/all ticket IDs where you've received a late response or an inadequate resolution, we'd like to know and will personally look into all those tickets. All in all Steve, if you'd like, one of our senior Account Managers can speak to you about all your issues and try to sort them out. We hope you have a better experience with us in the future.

I must say, if your support was as fast in replying to my requests as you were at answering this post then most of the above I mentioned before would not exist. To be fair it shouldn't be up to me to police your support department and provide you with instances when the support was lacking, you should be able to see the resolution time of tickets on your system. I was simply making a post in reply to the original posting. In response to the reissuing of WHMCS licences, let me provide the response received by one of our support persons via one of your account managers; (PLEASE NOTE WE HAD ONLY REQUESTED THIS REISSUE ONCE BEFORE ON BEHALF OF OUR CLIENT) This request took over 24 hours to be resolved and we needed to contact you via your online support to have it action-ed after requesting this via email support previously. further to that we felt the response to be quite obtuse. ------------------------- Hi XXXXX, As per our conversation we have re-issued the WHMCS license key which you can check in the Reseller Hosting order details. I understand this is the umpteenth time you have requested for the WHMCS License to be reissued. It would be difficult for us to re-issue the WHMCS license key again as result of that. If you require more information, do contact me. Best Regards, XXXXXX XXXXXX ------------------------- To put it plainly we were told that this was the last time it could be done, we had to then inform our client that and they were not impressed that we were limiting them to a service that should be flexible in that regard. In addition to this there are no mentions of limitations when signing up for the WHM product which I think should be addressed. With regards to the backup and restore and some other services, I would have thought this would be one of the most important issues you would be addressing whilst your product was in its BETA stage. Now that it is a LIVE service a backup or restore could cost allot of money to a company should their website become offline and needed the restore done asap, this is why I made the point to mention it previously. The restore facility should have been setup and ready to go on launch. When we originally requested a restore via your online support we were told that this option is not available. Be that as it may it looks like you are addressing all your issues and should have a polished product in due course. Thanks for the reply. Steve

Alright Steve, thanks for your feedback. We'd still appreciate if you could DM us your RID or any ticket ID as we're unable to find your Reseller account in our system (We're guessing it's not under your name). That will help us investigate the issues you mentioned. As for the WHMCS reissue, we provide a no questions asked resissue twice, after which we request for a valid reason for reissues. In your case there seems to be a miscommunication. Judging by the reply, our Support Team seems to think you've requested for resissues multiple times in the past and since it is a manual process we do want to discourage users from simply requesting reissues without a valid reason. However, we agree that the reply is misleading and seems like you will never be granted a reissue in the future, which isn't the case. Also, you're right, the WHM backup/restore functionality is a must-have feature for Resellers and it is our highest priority at the moment. We'll be rolling it out very soon along with a lot of other features in the coming weeks.
