Dedicated Managed Hosting

Posted by rotren, 03-09-2006, 12:42 PM
We are looking for a solution that provides a dedicated Linux web server and a reliable email service. We want a managed service so that if the linux server has a problem I can't fix myself for some reason, there will be staff at hand that can help out immediately. We provide web and email hosting for a couple of hundred clients. We need a good control panel and a good web mail system. Our current provider has a good web server solution and control panel, but we have had problems with the email system going down now and then, and it is becoming a problem. They have a cluster of over 10 servers for the email so it's supposed to provide redundancy and be reliable, but only in theory... So far, we are looking at Servint and Rackspace. Any feedback on those, and/or any other companies we should be looking at? Thanks for any feedback you can give, Robert

Hello, I would check out CartikaHosting.com's Managed Dedicated Cluster - I've been a customer of theirs since the summer and I have no complaints at all. Everything's been stellar . HTH,

I would check out netwave.com I have built some pretty extensive clusters for clients over there.

Our budget is $6-700 USD.

With that sort of budget you might want to try professional services that are tried and true...I personally use fastservers.net (I slack my service down as I like to do admin stuff)...but sites like this one (WHT) us places like RackSpace. Not saying anything against these guys that service systems, they might be well and good, but not sure what level of service you want. With places like fastservers and rackspace, you can call, email, etc. And you are given a guaranteed response time.

rotren - try www.layeredtech.com as a dedicated host. And www.platinumservermanagement.com as your management team. These 2 companies work together, and LT suggests you use PSM. LT is a great dedicated host. Many good reviews about them
