Reseller Hosting with TURNKEYINTERNET - Need feedback / experience shares

Posted by peppyabhi, 01-09-2013, 12:38 PM
Anyone using TURNKEYINTERNET's services? According to website, they have own data centers. Am looking at finalizing account to start Reseller Hosting, as a full-time business. Turnkey is giving white-labelled reseller with white-labelled support. Would welcome suggestions for similar offering from other reputed vendors, esp., SoftLayer or LiquidWeb. How is their connectivity, uptime and customer service response? Considering factors like quality of service, uptime, past network outages, gateways, support etc. Would appreciate feedback from members who have used above TurnKeyInternet's services.

Hello, Turnkey Does indeed run its own datacenter. As far as service, I would agree that their uptime is very good, I can only remember 1 instance of downtime while I was hosted there (on a dedicated server). My only complaint came down to support, it can be inconsistent depending on the tech, I hear that they have addressed this but as I am no longer a customer, I cannot confirm this.

With my last experiences with them, their support is slow. They have excellent uptimes though. But recently I see that they have added Support via Lice Chat as well so small issues maybe solved instantly.

I used their reseller services for a few of my own sites. Generally I found the quality of service to be acceptable, they certainly use high-end hardware to provide reseller services. There were a few negatives one being slow support for simple things like IP unblocks as well as some security issue with the PHP setup they were running. Overall, for the price and included features they may not be excellent but are certainly acceptable. Keep in mind that once you're on a server for some time you may need to remind them (repeatedly) to update (and sometimes patch) server software.

I've used them in the past and I'll have to agree with these other guys here Server Performance & Uptime Support Small issues can be resolved in Live Chat though. A lot of times they'll just ask you to open a ticket about it and you'll have to wait several hours for a response.

TKI doesn't allow reseller to modify cPanel account.

I'm in the process of switching a shared hosting account to TurnkeyInternet, but I've only had my account for less than two weeks. I can say, so far, that the support has been inferior to my previous hosting service, WestHost. I think that TurnkeyInternet has a promising and unique set of features, so I'm going to slog through and see if I can make them work for me, but I already realize that I can't expect much in the way of rapid, accurate, or consistent responses to tickets. Just to give you an idea of my experience so far, although I asked quite a few questions via a ticket about the setup of my account before purchasing (because I was getting conflicting responses through live chat and phone sales), TurnkeyInternet apparently doesn't have reliable processes in place between sales, ordering, and configuration, because my initial setup wasn't inclusive of all the components I had ordered. After getting partway through the configuration, they asked me if they could reset the account up properly. I agreed, and the services have finally been ironed out but it took quite a few subsequent tickets because the welcome emails were incomplete in their instructions, and the initial responses to my tickets showed that the support people were not really responding to the full content of the inquiries. Some of the problems may have come from the confusion of the reset of my account because usernames and passwords were not consistent in the emails I received and those required to login. Resolution of my ticket inquiries has taken, in some cases, as many as two days. Mostly I had problems with their TurnKeyVault in regard to the assumptions made in the instructions that resulted in my not being able to initially login. I've now discovered that only TurnkeyInternet can set the login password and I can't change it, which greatly reduces the security of the "Vault." I've gotten the VoxWire online meeting component problems worked out and I'm looking forward to trying this service. I had an initial configuration problem because the reseller and meeting room accounts I had used the same email address and I had no way of knowing that this was not OK. I can't yet comment on the hosting performance or configuration because I haven't moved my websites to TurnkeyInternet yet, but I don't forsee any problems. As I've tried to say, the service features seem good, it's just that TurnkeyInternet doesn't appear to have internal processes or documentation in place to make the introduction to the services and subsequent communication go smoothly. This is my opinion and I may have high standards about these expectations. Once I've gotten over this initial hump of moving and configuration, I'll give a more comprehensive review of my experience. My sincere hope is that TurnkeyInternet, in time, reveals itself to be a reliable hosting service with improved support.

Well I guess I can say a few words about them. *Their live chat is mostly responding and can help you resolve litlle issues. ** I mostly get response to my tickets in less than 1 hour *** Their uptime for my account lifetime is 99,37% -----------------------------------

I have a reseller account with them for small projects. Their support has improved a lot compared to the last time I needed some help and their uptime is more than acceptable for the price range.

I used them for a few sites for several months. Good uptime. Support sometimes a bit slow to respond. I had a nagging issue with very slow page loads on all sites that never seemed to get completely sorted out before I canceled my service.
