IP and NS problems
Posted by servcrate, 02-18-2013, 08:53 AM |
Hi,
We have down scaled from a VPS to a a reseller hosting (as it was offering more!)
The earlier nameservers were pointing to the VPS IP address (settings : godaddy host config)
Then as we have moved to a new reseller hosting, they give me newer IP addresses, which I have again edited on godaddy.
But some of my website show the older IP when checked on intodns.com and a few show the newer IP.
So, some of the sites are still running on earlier VPS and some on the new host.
Please advice what can be done.

Are you using cpanel? if yes, use an unified dns cluster. That way, no matter where your sites are located, just a single set of dns would just work fine.

You can also wait a while for DNS propagation. Sometimes it's taking longer than you would expect.

This. You need to give the change a little more time to propagate completely.

Generally, it takes 24 to 48 hours to propagate the nameservers globally. So please wait up to this time and then have a try.
