PlatinumServerManagement - so far so good :D

Posted by RobertMaltby, 11-05-2006, 05:08 PM
Just signed up for them and thus far Im impressed I have opened 5 tickets today (1 to harden and secure my server; 4 others to install misc software) and 4 of the 5 are completed already (in less then 3hours) the 5th I just submitted a few minutes ago.. I'll post a 1-month review of them when the time comes...

Glad to see your happy, they seem to be on the top of server management around here. Pat your self on the back, because you made a good choice.

Posted by Nick H, 11-05-2006, 06:11 PM
For once I actually agree with you Robert Good choice. You'll never regret going with PSM.

PSM are a life saver! I have been with them for a month now and I dont know where I would be without them!

Posted by dsotmoon, 11-05-2006, 07:25 PM
good to hear, I signed up with them a few days ago and they fixed a problem in 6 minutes that rack911 had been ignoring for a week, my server is already "managed" but I will be staying on with PSM as gratitude for getting my server back to normal and as a second layer of administration

Posted by taylorwilsdon, 11-05-2006, 08:04 PM
I'll echo the general sentiment by saying PSM is amazing for what we need. I wouldn't consider them a full on replacement for a proactive management team or onsite hands, but its the next best thing and a hundred times cheaper.

Posted by Duplika, 11-06-2006, 07:18 AM
I second every positive opinion of PSM.

With so many recommendations about PSM, I signed up with them and I asked for a refund within initial 3 days of signing up and within 3 hours on first opportunity to work with them. I think they are totally overloaded with tickets.

Posted by ServerManagement, 11-08-2006, 12:41 PM
I checked your account and here's the exact response times to all 4 of your tickets that you submitted within 3 days: Ticket #1 response time 18 minutes Ticket #2 response time 59 minutes Ticket #3 response time 2 hours 8 minutes Ticket #4 response time 4 minutes I don't know anyone that would consider those response times indicative of us being overloaded with tickets. The only problem you had was you opened a ticket requesting a migration to be started exactly 22 hours from the time you opened the ticket, and it wasn't started at the exact moment you wanted. We went to start it approx. 3 hours after it was scheduled to start and your server was already down at that point, which we informed you of. By the time the server came back up, you told us to cancel your account already.

I am getting really sick of people here who always have something to complain about.... and never give the other party a chance to sort everything out.

Posted by Premier, 11-10-2006, 12:45 PM
Their response times to your tickets look good to me, and they've always been fast with us. One thing I've always noticed is their ability to prioritize well. Urgent tickets always get fast responses.

Yep..They know what's "life threatening" and what isn't.

We have been now with PSM for over 2.5years and each time PSm have handled our support tickets with a high professional manner and responce. In fact our servers hardly need to be looked into as we know from day one that they have been setup and configured by PSM and not a lot goes wrong. Resently we added to our pool of servers, dedicated servers that are offered by coastinc and managed by PSM, cant be any happier. PSM are our only choice when it comes to server management. Thanks guys....keep up the great work

We are going on our 3rd Month with PSM and are very happy with the service and response time, especially the price, cant beat 29.95 for the 1st server. Regards,

PSM does offer a reseller program for their services at the cost of $19/month/server if you are referring to having them support dedicated servers that you have resold. However, if you are asking if they provide support to shared/reseller customers, then the answer is no. You would need an outsourced support provider like http://www.touchsupport.com or http://www.thinksupport.net. They will optimize and configure your unmanaged server as long as it is RedHat/CentOS/Fedora and has cPanel. By purchasing their services, you unmanaged server essentially becomes a managed server. I don't believe they can transfer accounts from a reseller plan to a dedicated server because they need root access to both servers to do this, and they would only have root access to your dedicated server. If you have other questions, you might be best contacting sales@platinumservermanagement.com.

Been with PSM since their beginning for well over 1 year now. Simply the best server management for the price. There is simply nothing that the techs will not do for you.

Anyone know of a similiar service that is compatible with Plesk control panel on a Linux box?

Posted by daylightnetworks, 12-28-2006, 10:25 AM
As long as i know PSM does not manage freeBSD servers only linux if im not mistaken.

Posted by MediaLove, 12-28-2006, 10:30 AM

Have 4 servers being managed by PSM (will be adding a whole lot more soon!). In my opinion, they are the best thing since sliced bread.

Posted by Nick H, 12-29-2006, 02:28 AM
It is safe to give all companies I listed root access, yes
