Please recommend a reseller hosting in EU

Posted by Saffy, 08-10-2013, 04:15 AM
Hello all, I'm newbie here, but continuously reading your forum for couple of weeks already. At the moment I run VPS @ Hostgator (Level 3) to reseller hosting to my customers. However I'm thinking to move to some EU-based hosting (UK, NL, or any) due to 232 ms ping which is really big. I tried first with Hostinger offerings in Russia, but really was not satisfied with the stability of the service and tech support. I have found a lot of positive regarding EZPZ here but a bit worried about stability of service. I mean I work in such environment so my customers will just cancel my service in case of downtime more than 15 minutes during business hours (9AM-6PM +4 AZT, now +5 AZST due to daylight saving). Also I checked Inno, but their offering is 20GB max, while I have 19GB already. My thinking was Eleven2 (they also offer a free dedicated IP), but reading your forums I thought that it may not be a great solution. Also heard about Hostdime, but have no experience. Basically I'm looking for a stable reseller hosting with upgrades up to 100GB or 50GB at least. Great option will be a LiveChat support. Something within Hostgator Level 3 VPS price range or could be cheaper. Hope you can guide me the right way.

As you're already thinking of growing to the size of a full hard drive (and perhaps beyond), you might want to think about a fully-managed virtual server with a cPanel + WHMCS license right off the bat. Budget-wise, it might be more than a comparably-sized shared reseller account, but it would afford you a lot more room for growth should you need to scale out quicker than anticipated. If that's too much too soon, then perhaps RS or TSO in the UK or EuroVPS on the mainland -- all have high regards here on the forums. Do your research on them, though, to be sure for yourself. Hope that helps to get you started.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I think I'm not ready yet for a fully-managed one, but I will check RS, TSO and EuroVPS. Will share my thoughts then.

I think that EuroVPS is not the best option for me right now. Yet I stuck between RS and TSO. I tried to get some user reviews, but didn't find too much. "TSOHost / VidaHost - the best provider in the UK. Brilliant grid service too." thread @ WHT forced me to think again about TSO. But it would be great if somebody may share their experience with those hosting providers. I think to go with TSO as it offers cloud reseller hosting but nothing about what's included in it except their own control panel instead of cPanel... Also no information about SLA and support via email. From this point of view, I would feel myself more comfortable with rshosting, but their costs are even higher than I pay now to Hostgator...

Don't be too easily influenced by any one person's review or opinion, Saffy - mine included. Try and take time enough to pull a bunch of references from which to base your findings. And above all else, if you can afford it for a month or two, try the services out for yourself as a "test run" of sorts. That way you can see whether or not the actual customer treatment and product quality is high enough for you. As far as the pricing goes, the industry is quite low as is stands, and could due with a increase to cover the rising prices globally - energy, cost of living, etc., if you ask me. So while this or that company or plan may be a few dollars more or less per month than another, ask yourself, on behalf of your clients, what would be worth it for them? I can't answer that question for you, but I bet you a lot of former-HostGator resellers could... All that said, trust your gut and stick to your budget if you must, and surely you'll find the right solution for you.

Yeap... there is way to test that all. I was really surprised when you mentioned RS and TSO because I couldn't find via google searches till now. I'm looking for a new reselling hosting for around a month already and the most hosting offerings I could find were from EIG... And I happy that I could find WHT, so I can get more information from the real users.

Since you've already been utilizing a level 3 vps from HostGator, I would recommend sticking with a managed VPS. http://futurehosting.com is a managed provider offering VPS servers in London, whenever I've used them the results have always been positive.

Thanks for your input. It has been always a question for me because till now I don't clearly understand the difference between VPS and Reseller pack in my case... I might be looking for something with free billing software at least, cause I use to manually suspend accounts for now.

I mean, web hosting /design is not my core business, but I get numerous requests from my clients to provide this service. That's why I signed up for a first package found in the internet which was Hostgator. For now I'm looking not for a VPS but a reseller hosting with some useful add-ons preinstalled and billing system to make my life easier. I thought about UK due to low latency. So I'm still in search for the best one in terms of stability/budget.

May I know where your physical location is?

Azerbaijan, any ideas?

EZPZHosting is highly looked upon in the hosting industry as being one of the better one out there, they are UK based, which country in certain do you want the hosting to be in?

Do you accept online payment? A billing script can help you save a lot of time in managing hosting accounts task. You can configure billing script to suspend hosting account automatically when payment is overdue X days. Server in EU/UK is better for you if most customers are in Azerbaijan.

I think UK is ok. However I could see numerous outages at them recently. I guess I can pay a little more, but get a 99,99% stable service. I have seen the sea of positives here re EZPZ, which I assume is due to their honest to customers, they have prompt support and don't lie or try to fool you. But it not avoid the connectivity/server issues.

Try Ezpz hosting they offer end user support and a trial

Posted by Saffy, 08-14-2013, 01:00 AM
No, nowadays all of my clients are willing to pay via bank transfer. Agree re server location. So I.m going to migrate hosting from US to some provider in EU/UK.

I don't know if Skynethosting to EU, but they're great.

It seems to be good one, but their costs are seems to be too low for the quality service. If someone also uses them, I would like to get more feedback...

Did anyone have a good experience with TSO Cloud Hosting? I think that they can be innovative offering among those who provides only cPanel in our region.

you may try http://www.heartinternet.co.uk/

Thanks for the recommendation. I will check it. What is the service quality/price ratio?

The way the cloud reseller works with Tsohost is it's an addon to the Ultimate package, so you get the spec of the Ultimate package + Reseller functionality

You would hardly find any host without negative reviews. Most of the time clients tend to post reviews when things go wrong and there could be many clients who are happy with the services for years and not bother to do a review. A reseller is less likely to post a review and get their reseller cover blown in public unless there's a real need like service down and need help!

Since your quoted budget is around the range of a HostGator Level 3 VPS, you might want to consider purchasing two or more reseller accounts from either the same or different hosting companies. Request them to place you on different servers for added redundancy, so even if one server goes down, at least not all your clients are suffering from downtime and you would have less worry. Depending on the type of content your clients' websites are serving, CloudFlare may help to contain some of the minor downtimes which will occur from time to time (whether rarely or not) on a shared hosting environment.
