Windows 2008 Managed Dedicated Server

Posted by Augury, 09-26-2008, 03:46 PM
We have been using Server Intellect for a year or so for Windows Managed Dedicated Hosting. We recently have been trying to setup a development server for Windows 2008. In my opinion they pretty much dropped the ball. Our Linux Servers are at fastservers.net, but there Windows Managed Services are much more pricey than their Linux Services. As for Managed Services I am looking for a company to do OS and Server operations/configurations, maintenance, quick hardware replacement. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi Augury, I would give http://www.handynetworks.net/ a shout and see if they can help you. I've heard some good things about them and they support Windows. Good luck!

I spent the better part of 2 hours looking at server management companies. I do like the idea of having an independent 3rd party doing my support. It allows me freedom I otherwise wouldn't have. I have found a lot of information on the companies offering Linux management. And the Linux Management appears to be much more reasonably priced. Can anyone recommend a company that does Windows Management. Things that are important to me: 1. Hardening 2. Quick Response. 3. OS/ISS Assistance Everyone here is great.

Last time when I asked, Jay said they can do management with monthly charge. You can contact them for more information

Yes. They still provide it: http://www.handynetworks.com/server-...t-overview.cfm and http://www.handynetworks.com/server-...nt-pricing.cfm - Rick

Is the windows server with Plesk ? Or any other control panel ?

Currently, I am hosted with Serverintellect. I am very dissatisfied with them so I will be moving to a completely new server. For a control panel, I was thinking about DotNetPanel, but I could be swayed to use none, or Plesk. I was hopeing for more input. I have contacted handynetwork, and they appear to be a good company. Unfortunately, I didn't want to spend $350 a month for my development server. If I have no choice I will do what I have to do though.
