Move away from crocweb, hard to do!

Posted by Folke, 03-09-2014, 02:45 PM
Hello, For about a month ago i bought an Reseller account att crocweb.com and now i has grown out of it and i need an own VPS. The move in to crocweb was easy and they where fast but the move out of crocweb.com is not so easy. I need help to move all acoounts from crocweb.com reseller account to my own VPS. The VPS is using cPanel. I has tried to use "Copy an Account From Another Server" but that will not work with crocweb do to "Connection timed out". Crocweb says it a problem at my end but non of my friends with cPanel server can not receive the accounts either, everyone is getting "Connection timed out". I has tried to do a full backup of the cPanel account at crocweb but when i tries to restore the account cPanel says that the backup file is corrupt. Any idéas ?

You cannot use the cPanel migration option if you do not have root access to the server. What is your ticket ID? I would like to see why your full backups are corrupted.

Firewall issue going on here maybe?

He doesn't have root access to our servers, this wouldn't be possible.

But it could be a firewall issue from his vps to your server. Edit: Ah nevermind, I just was that he is not using the option "with an account password" for the cpanel migration options. That is the problem right there, since you do not have root access to Crocweb's servers, you will have to use the option "Copy an Account From Another Server With an Account Password" or use a script that backs up all the resellers accounts as full backups and then ftp's them to your server. You can use the transfer accounts option with password in WHM to transfer accounts, see https://documentation.cpanel.net/dis...count+Password

Generate a full backup, put in in your home directory, wget it to the new server and just restore them.

Could be when you initiate this, the server is busy or having some high load. cPanel automatically delays backup process requests when the server is busy. Try doing it again, now that you have CrocWeb attention, they can help you migrate it smoothly. cPanel is awesome, you can move things seamlessly between web hosts. All the best with you move!

You should be able to move your account using the option to transfer an account with the account password but you can also if you have backups of the account just upload them on your new server. Have you tried asking your new host for help with the transfer? I'm sure they should be able to.
