Acquiring a Managed Hosting Provider

Posted by emergysBizDev, 06-23-2009, 01:39 PM
Hello Gurus, I represent a SMB company which is open to acquiring a Managed hosting provider, and providing SAP hosting services. Alternatively, the company could build a data center & provide the hosting services itself. Are you folks aware & point me to : 1) Any due-diligence check list for acquisitions in this space. 2) Any buy versus build analysis in the hosting space. 3) How would one go about looking for any companies wanting to exit the business by selling? Brokers? Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks!

If the company has no experience in the Datacenter industry, I would recommend starting off by colocating your infrastructure with reputable datacenters and growing from there. In regards to buying company's it would be good to go with brokers and there are a few on this board that you can contact for more information.

Jason makes a great point, you can save a large cap ex, by starting carefully into this market. There are several new data centers being built in and around metro Atlanta. I know several dc brokers in the area, let me know. Hope this helps,

Hello, I'm still researching and evaluating options to determine whether to acquire, colocate or build. I'm looking for consultancy companies who can provide any consulting services in helping make the assessment. thanks for all your help so far.

I would like to know if there are consultants/brokers who can help us navigate through the buy versus build versus co-locate option for a managed hosting provider business. Thanks,
