Hello Can you guys recommend the best CDN network for video hosting? Thanks

Akamai, but unless you're pushing a lot of videos, I doubt you'll like CDN pricing, since you'll need to make a monthly commitment and probably a contract.

I'll be adding around 30 videos per month. What would be my best solution be?

There are plenty of CDN providers; depending on your needs and location of visitors you have some choices. I would suggest to do some searches here on WHT; and you will find some options. The amount of video's does not matter; it is more the expected bandwidth you expect to use; with systems like origin-pull you mostly only pay for bandwidth.

iWeb had some pretty affordable deals on some servers with 10TB of bandwidth, you should check them out as well as NETELLIGENT.CA, both are trusted and affordable canadian companies.

I would say either Akamai or Level 3.

I've always been a big fan Limelight's CDN. Never used it personally though. Akamai is definitely a winner when it comes to CDNs.

Webhosting + CDN, Aflexi Solutions might help you. Their website is www.Aflexi.net

How about some BitTorrent-based solution? It might save you a LOT of bandwidth (read: cash) and it's modern and convenient as well. EDIT: Wikipedia has also some tips on its CDN article for CDN companies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Content_delivery_network And as I said, if I were you I'd vote for some P2P-based (ideally BitTorrent) content distribution since it mostly means that you get "free" bandwidth from users who seed (re-distribute) the files using their own internet connection. And in case of BitTorrent it can mean that the popular your videos are the more bandwidth will be available for it (i.e. the more users will seed it thus increasing the total bandwidth). I think the cheapest solution would be simpleCDN. You can also check vps.net new cdn offering.

Thank you for your responses. Can you give me more information on a BitTorrent-based solution? Thanks

Are your viewers only in US or world wide? CDN costs has come down significantly, simplecdn seems to be the cheapest around - but afaik only pops in US - you should be able to get global coverage for 5-10c/gb though. D

What type of videos are they and what rates will they be running at? Where will the majority of your users be from?

30 new videos per month is good info but not sufficient to evaluate your requirements. What would be an average length of the movies, size in MB? Also what is expected number of viewers (total) per month, first month, 3-rd month, 6-th month? Where do you see the most viewers will be coming from? US, Europe, Asia, Mid East, the rest of the world (sorry if I didn't name your specific region ) Are you doing simple progressive downloads? windows streaming? flash streaming? mobile streaming? iPhone (relatively new) streaming? Are you planning to add new types/technologies streaming in the near future? Sorry for so many questions but without knowing the answers will be difficult to evaluate your requirements and then recommend to you the vendor.
