Hostingbond

After a series of issues I can only describe as terminally irresponsible - wwwDOThostingbondDOTcom is now gone. I just thought I'd let WHT community know as I see their offers are still available. Interestingly I've had no response for around the same time as the last login by wnh123 u=438916 who seems to be the sales voice of the 'company' Just wanted people to know. I'll be sure to steer clear of anyone with less than 3 years in business from now on. A shame that scammers spoil it for legitimate newcomers

Their site still opens normally, what leads you to believe they no longer exist? A better explanation would be helpful to WHT readers.

So a delayed response = No longer in business ?

May we ask what exactly these "series of issues" were ?

It's their 6 month anniversary today What are the "series of issues"?

Their frontend and backend is opening fine here.

Works fine. Please do let us know what they did wrong. Sounds like all they did was delay response to your ticket?

Their website is working fine. How did you reach to the conclusions that they are gone and are scammers? Just because you hadn't receive a reply yet?

It is just speculation until proof is seen, they may not be closed

Thanks for the replies guys I can't see their website, despite resetting my IP address, changing browsers, etc. My own main site wwwDOTclassmediaserviceDOTcom is similarly unavailable Series of issues Transferring to them was a nightmare - they had offered unlimited hosting (which worried me but I'd read through some feedback from others so I took them at their word) The first account I tried giving unlimited a package including storage to didn't work... The first account I tried giving unlimited a package including bandwidth to didn't work either. After several support tickets I had to use set amounts for packages - annoying but I just made a note to remember to check and increase the package allowances when clients got to around 40% of the quotas to avoid notification emails etc (i.e. make them manually 'unlimited') Like I said, annoying but nothing major. After adjusting the accounts for the above issue, I transferred accounts from my old host to them successfully, I changed the passwords and all was fine for a week or two - then all the accounts vanished. Opening a ticket to them came back that someone used my account to delete them. Given that I have reseller accounts and server accounts elsewhere and had never had an issue, I suspected they were covering up something but I resigned to having to start from backups and work from scratch (one client needed a remodel so that worked out ok anyway) My suspicions were raised when I noticed that there were problems adding an account name I'd used before because "that username already exists on the cluster" (error message in WHM) I tested a theory and deleted an account on a seperate VPS and reseller account and then created them again - no problems using the same account name. I tested this for every account - they all came back with the same error. I also noticed they had mistakenly linked to another client's URL in some of the tickets and now I believe that they have confused our accounts and that my hosting accounts are on a cluster somewhere but their assumed (I admit it's assumed - I can't access anything now so all I have is assumptions) incompetence is the weak link. This was related to an issue with the sites going down but their site being up - their ticket reply said I needed to use their nameservers instead of the private nameservers I'd set up and had been working fine (and which I'd confirmed was included as part of the package) Now this comes up... you can imagine where I'm at now But you guys say you can see the site.... so do I assume they have blocked me? In 15+ years I've ever had this many issues with hosting so fast... and staying polite has been hmmmm let's just say a stretch on my serenity

I can see your domain too, it's just an index of a blank site (only the cgi-bin is listed), though you could have moved this to a new host by now. The cluster issue could indicate that the accounts are still on the server (you just don't own them) or they exist on the DNS cluster and can't be added again. When in doubt, always google "is it up" and there are sites that can check it for you. It might be strict firewall settings, where somehow its blocked you. There might be other reasons but only they can investigate and let you know. Its funny, you have been in the business for 15+ year, but you are still choosing the cheapest providers you can find when you and me know full well that at that pricing, they are highly likely to be unsustainable, and will either collapse, become overloaded, or sell off to the highest bidder.

Thread Title edited since they are not gone.

Considering that their DNS is almost as messed up as yours, your best bet would probably be to move to a provider that actually knows what they're doing and can get you set up properly.

This has happened to us a few times. We always check to see if the site or sites are up and if they are then we have to reboot our modem. When we're doing that we also take the time to reboot our machines. Once we do that the sites will show back up for us. We talked to our isp about it and all their support could say to us is...duh?

Thanks for confirming about their dns issues - good to hear from someone constructive, I appreciate it. Yep, moving is the plan - I still can't access their site in order to lodge a ticket so I'll leave them and hope this thread assists others.

When I mentioned resetting my IP address, that's what I was referring to (although I also tried other Net providers to be sure to be sure )
