using a vps for a dedicated ip address

Hi, I have a reseller hosting account with another provider I have been happy with until recently, where IP's are getting blocked everywhere due to a couple of spammers. They want to charge me $7 per month for a dedicated IP Address. I am wandering if there was anyway of just buying a cheap VPS - around $5 per YEAR and using the dedicated IP Address for my reseller account - or actually just my main domain name. Any software we can addon to include this? Anyone we can pay to do this.

Do you have any control panel with the current reseller plan to manage the reseller accounts ? I would suggests you to increase your budget if you are planning to purchase a VPS as you cannot get a decent performing VPS with a control panel and clean IP for $5 per month.

Not to mention he is talking about $5 per year not month.

I think the OP is trying to ask if he can get a CHEAP yearly VPS (that comes with a dedicated ip) in addition to his/her reseller account and use the VPS IP as a proxy for the main domain. That is possible, but only for incoming traffic. Any email issues that you might be having because of blacklisted ips wont get fixed by the VPS. I would suggest move on to a decent reseller provider, which does not charge that heftily for a dedicated ip.

Hi, Are you looking for a VPS which can host your main website, would you like to keep your emails with current hosting provider. In my suggestion, if you are ready to pay little more money, you can buy a VPS with control panels and you can host your main reseller account and your client's accounts in it and can manage yourself. I don't think you can get a VPS for $5 for a year, if there is, you will not get the expected performce from it. If you want make your customers happy, you have to give them a good performace, so please try to spend some more money to buy a new VPS.

Hello, It will be difficult to find a hosting provider who offer VPS for $5/year. Most hosting providers offer dedicated IP for $2/month to $4/month. It will be better if you can try a different provider who will offer services for much cheaper rate.

I just don't think you'll find a VPS solution with a dedicated IP for $5 per year. Please keep us updated. Note: $7 per month for a dedicated IP is really overpriced.
