Amazon EC2 Full?

Posted by logart, 01-27-2011, 06:37 PM
I have been checking the EC2 instance types the past couple of weeks trying to create a micro instance, and all I see in my list is Compute and GPU instances (aka Large). Are they "sold out" of all the smaller instances? Or am I doing something wrong?

Make sure your selected instance type is compatible with the type you want. Also try different zones. We're not having any issues on us-east-1c. I bet you're trying to deploy an x64 instance.

I was trying to install Centos, I guess it only is usable on large nodes?

You were probably trying to use an instance store backed AMI on an EBS backed instance (i.e a Micro EC2 instance).
