Dedicated Server in France that allows BGP announcement

Posted by robertl, 02-20-2017, 07:26 AM
Hello, We are looking for a dedicated server in France and we'd like to announce IPs there. We have reached out to the following providers but they don't allow BGP announcement. I'm guessing their are reselling OVH servers perhaps and that's why they're not able to access BGP announcement http://pulsedmedia.com velia.net Our requirements are E3 quad core cpu 16GB RAM 500GB CentOs 6.x 64 bit 10TB Bandwidth 1Gbps Port Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

Most datacenters will do this but you would normally need to lease or colo a rack not just one server. FDC servers have a location in France.

velia.net is part of Host Europe GmbH. Are you looking for announcing IP over your ASN or through provider.

I've reached out to them but the quote they sent me was much higher than other providers in France.

I see, but there website looks quite cheap. You can share your budget in WHT for dedicated / BGP, some one will be able to help you out.

BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) is protocol that manages how packets are routed across the Internet or simply BGP directs packets between Autonomous Systems (AS). OP want to annouce his own IP address through AS of a provider. You can see more details of BGP here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Border_Gateway_Protocol

You can try contacting online.net or digicube.fr , maybe they allow this kind of activities.
