No, looks like GBLX has null routed traffic to certain IPs. Foonet doesn't have Qwest anymore - even though their web page still advertises Qwest bandwidth.

They appear to be up right now.

Qwest is history When I was with them, the speed wasn't real fast, roughly 60kB/s from ftp.uu.net. But it seems they are real fast now

Who do they use now?

Posted by Dragoon, 11-17-2003, 12:08 PM
Global Crossing and TimeWarner Telecom Looks like all their IRC clients are on GBLX.

TimeWarner is the primary link for Web clients, GBLX is the primary for High-Risk clients. BGP is setup so that if one goes down, the other will pick up the traffic. Also, Qwest isn't gone completely - there are still routers and some customers that sit on the Qwest links - it's just been phased out of general routing access.

Andrew, When are you going to get around to updating your site?

Posted by AKavanaugh, 11-18-2003, 09:33 AM
I believe you mean Foonet's website - which I can say, I have no clue as my company no longer has service contracts with CIT. Paul would be the best person to ask about this type of service update - I know he was busy as of late implementing new Junipers, maybe the website is next on his To-Do list.

I though you were working for/with him? Juniper? He finally realized Cisco can't filter worth a damn?

It(foonet) has been really unstable the last two days..

Posted by AKavanaugh, 11-18-2003, 06:02 PM
My company had a contract with CIT/Paul - contracts have end dates and the end date of our contract has passed. I'm not sure what caused the switch of equipment - but I did get a chance to see Paul stressed out of his mind while trying to find time to configure the Juniper.

I've only noticed 2 significant drops of the entire IRC network and those were for about 30 seconds each.
