Hi: Ezzi Down for now 15 minutes. What can we expect from them? We have been with them 1,5months... each 2 or 3 days they have networks problem. is that normal? Regards, Carlos

Running now. Today only 15 minutes...

Posted by SoftWareRevue, 11-20-2003, 01:31 PM
Which center are you in? I haven't noticed anything.

Posted by CCorderoR, 11-20-2003, 01:48 PM
65.125.225.* It wasn't only my server, because i know another hosting company on the same subnet, and i was watching their pages when it went down.

Posted by Eric, 11-20-2003, 01:52 PM
It was down for me, down from London and Detroit but up from LA and Frankfurt (according to Alertra). So it wasn't down for everyone and I haven't received any notification call to my cell from Alertra (monitors every 5 minutes). But still, I couldn't access it. Anyway, back up now, let's hope it will stay up for a while

All of ours are out as well. On the phone with them now.. (on hold) Will give update once they come back to me.

Posted by Two-A-T, 11-20-2003, 04:23 PM
Just got off the phone with them: "we see the problem and techs are working on it. may take a few minutes" But would not give any specifics

Posted by CCorderoR, 11-20-2003, 04:26 PM
When i took the server with them, i thought Ezzi was a good company, stable network... but FDC Server's network is better from what i can see...

Posted by DCM, 11-20-2003, 04:27 PM
My Ezzi customers are down and screaming.

Posted by IdleServ, 11-20-2003, 04:33 PM
They are really trying my patience now... paid advertising clicks are going to waste

Posted by Eric, 11-20-2003, 04:35 PM
Yep, down again. I can't access their site either.

Posted by Rob T, 11-20-2003, 04:50 PM
still down here

Posted by Two-A-T, 11-20-2003, 04:52 PM
Just called again: ME: "How much longer is this downtime going to last? I have customers demanding answers" THEM: "they aren't giving me any times. give us 10 minutes" Still would not even give me a cause 3 outages in less than 24 hours is not good...

Posted by IdleServ, 11-20-2003, 04:54 PM
meh, this is not worth the amount of money we are paying.

Posted by DCM, 11-20-2003, 04:55 PM
They wouldn't commit to any tiome frame for resolution nor the cause either. We might be changing boxes if this keeps up.

Posted by DCM, 11-20-2003, 04:56 PM
We should all call for credits.

Posted by Rob T, 11-20-2003, 05:06 PM
it appears all of 65.125.*.* is down that ezzi has - I have servers in a few different class c's in there and they are all dead.

Posted by Rob T, 11-20-2003, 05:08 PM
latest news - according to the person answering the phone, they had a switch failure, and are currently replacing the switch. Everything should be back up within a few minutes.

Posted by IdleServ, 11-20-2003, 05:35 PM
Those few minutes are up... still nothing

Posted by Webgypsy, 11-20-2003, 05:36 PM
I am still down and out of patience with Ezzi. Where can I get a P4, 300GB traffic for about $100.- monthly. One with working switches.

Posted by IdleServ, 11-20-2003, 05:55 PM
God damn, still no change! We should demand some $$ back for this.

Posted by Two-A-T, 11-20-2003, 05:56 PM
The Ezzi site is back up.. So they must be making progress. But still no response from any of our servers.

Posted by Webgypsy, 11-20-2003, 05:57 PM
I want it otherwise I'll leave. Probably Rackshack.net

Posted by CCorderoR, 11-20-2003, 05:59 PM
I'm leaving too. Too many problems for 1 month with them... nightmare...

Posted by Eric, 11-20-2003, 06:15 PM
Me too, that's for sure. I've been transfering some resellers to a new server already, actually.

Posted by IdleServ, 11-20-2003, 06:21 PM
Finally working again.

Posted by Two-A-T, 11-20-2003, 06:27 PM
All of our servers are back now. Total outage length (according to my figures): 2hrs 10min +/-

Posted by Two-A-T, 11-20-2003, 06:32 PM
According to the person I just spoke to on the phone, they will be sending out an email tonight regarding any downtime credit.

Posted by Two-A-T, 11-20-2003, 08:09 PM
Is it me or are we down AGAIN????

Posted by jpg71, 11-20-2003, 08:15 PM
I'm down.

Posted by Eric, 11-20-2003, 08:16 PM
It's not you, we are down.

Posted by Eric, 11-20-2003, 08:25 PM
OK, my server there seems up now...but for how long.

Posted by Two-A-T, 11-20-2003, 08:41 PM
Up and Down.. when up, showing 25%-75% loss on all machines. Then they go down again... It's like riding a roller coaster and I'm quickly getting sick to my stomach!

Posted by Two-A-T, 11-20-2003, 09:19 PM
Completely down YET AGAIN!

Posted by Corky, 11-20-2003, 09:29 PM
[King of the Hill] Yup.... [/King of the Hill] Was pretty flaky for hours, now it's completely given out... Worse, Live Support is showing: Back Shortly... bleh

Posted by IdleServ, 11-20-2003, 09:32 PM
meh, i like how they make sure their webservers are up and running.

Posted by retep, 11-20-2003, 11:03 PM
It's ironic that a second before my first 'system is down' alert came in I got a colo quote from another provider. Great timing. Honestly, this is very frustrating. Except for these network problems everything is going well for me there. They say they're improving things but I've not seen any result in the last month.

Posted by DCM, 11-20-2003, 11:04 PM
Well, my customers have told me to make plans to migrate to another vendor. Looks like EV1Servers will be the winner in this battle.

Posted by oktagone, 11-28-2003, 10:51 AM
heh, ive moved 12 boxes FROM ev1 to Ezzi.. and the network is MUCH faster. I wouldnt go near EV1 with a 50ft pole... i tried them for 2 years, and was not impressed. Never ask for any kind of credit, or downtime refunds if they go down.

Hello Fellow Ezzi users... Ok.. out of desperation from of all of the recent problems, I took a last minute trip up to NY and visited the DC. I wanted to get some answers from a real person and not just an email. It took over 1500 miles of driving in less than 4 days, but I feel better about Ezzi now. After talking to a couple of the tech's face to face, I feel a great deal better about what's going on there. I physically put my hands on all of my servers (all were exactly as advertised and well labeled as mine), saw some new Dells they are going to be offering very soon, got to discuss the problems, gave my input and concerns on many of them and found out what's going on. Everyone else should have gotten the email they sent out giving details about the planned and completed upgrades. I saw some of the things they have been working on as well as had many others that weren't mentioned in the email explained to me. When all is said and done, I think Ezzi will be one of the most modern and stable DC's available. With the plans they have in place and the upgrades they are doing, they will have multiple layers of redundancy unlike anything I have ever seen or heard of. All of the problems they have had with redundancy up to this point have either been due to building owners failing to meet terms they themselves put in place (generators/power) or chain reaction failures in hardware caused by the power failures along with a few pieces of hardware that were faulty from the start that didn't show up until the other systems failed and put the strain on them. All in all, nothing more than the growing pains of a new DC that is expanding very quickly along with building owners that don't keep their own agreements. It will all be eliminated with the upgrades and changes that are in progress. According to what I was told, all bandwidth and hardware issues should be completely resolved within 30 days and the power issues will be resolved by late January or early February when they have the new generators in place. I know many of you are fed up. To be honest, I am too. But having been there in person, I can see light at the end of the tunnel and feel it's worth the few glitches that we may still see to enjoy the benefits of the final outcome. So, I'm staying with them. The only thing I am not happy about is Phil (ISPClub) wasn't there to talk to. All of the management and senior personnel had left for the holiday. I arrived at the DC Wednesday afternoon... the day before Thanksgiving. I hope my trip up there gives the rest of you a little peace of mind. Things are improving and I have seen the proof. The building the DC is in is HUGE with alot of room for expansion. When they are finished with all of the upgrades, they will be a force to contend with in the DC market. Forgive me if this seems a little cluttered or unorganized. I'm still exhausted from the trip. I was not in ANY way paid to say anything here. These are my own words based on my visit to the DC in person.

Hi Two_A_T: It's interesting what they're planning... but customers live in present, not in future. I cannot tell them that today they have more than 7 hours of downtime... but they can be sure in 6 months all will be more stable. Do you understand what i mean? I already left Ezzi, i went to Ev1, and in 2 weeks, service has been great. Now i'm trying to receive an answer from Billing about their SLA... but they only reply with "what are you asking?" e-mails... interesting When i searched location for a new dedicated server, i thought Ezzi was a professional company... but i'm very sorry... i cannot say that. I know Ezzi has happy customers. I only can speak on my own experience with them. Now, i only hope I will get an answer from their billing dept and a refund for the downtime, as i would not like to do a charge back and have problems with them. Regards, Carlos

wow, Two_A_T thanks for sharing your experience.. that was quite a trek you made! Quite a bit going on behind the scenes, and it's great to have a small account of it from a brave peer. I think I'm going to pull out for now and wait to see how they evolve in the next couple of months. They have been in the business of making promises in the past without delivering, and while I can appreciate "growing pains," it's felt more like a hump on the back these past few months. I'll give them credit for their service and attentiveness. They certainly are a great company and not too crowded or impersonal like the others. Just need time for these bruises to heal from hitting my fist to the desk and time to recover my voice from yelling about that fickle core router I'll definitely be interested in their next line of machines and maybe migrate back after the new year. thanks again
