iracks down?

Posted by Venomous, 11-03-2003, 04:07 PM
Anyone have server with iracks? www.irack.org is also down, this situation has began about 20 minutes ago

Posted by s.h.a.zz.y, 11-03-2003, 04:14 PM
Yeah they are down....

Posted by Venomous, 11-03-2003, 04:38 PM
I have taken a server with they from a month. That you know these down frequently, or is just a case? however they are down from about one hour and this not good...........

Posted by s.h.a.zz.y, 11-03-2003, 04:42 PM
Do a search on them, you find out alot about them... Plenty of downtime in the past.

Posted by iain-uk, 11-03-2003, 05:07 PM
for **** sake i just bought extra ips from them and then they just **** off. I've heard they are moving all the server cabinets down to their own floor, if this is true then they suck they didn't tell anyone!!! I only know because I know one of Adam's mates.

Posted by Venomous, 11-03-2003, 06:28 PM
I'm very very disappointed, this isn't the right way to work, 3 hours of downtime are unacceptable. This is my opinion.

Posted by Joseph_M, 11-03-2003, 07:03 PM
iain-uk - This isn't the case as all of the servers are already in their own area...I know that Adam is in Amsterdam atm and is probably working on the network. I can only apologise on his behalf and that I will contact him to get a report on the situation. (note - I don't work for nor have I worked for IRacks)

Posted by Venomous, 11-03-2003, 07:17 PM
well, now are 4 hours of downtime....

Posted by iain-uk, 11-03-2003, 08:38 PM
The situation is iracks are moving from their Open peering network to a new selection, so hopefully that will prevent future downtime HOWEVER they have not forewarned us users AT ALL! No posts on the site or anything! Utterly disgraceful this, I have lost 5 clients allready causing me to have to fork out to refund them as well as losing my streaming media servers in which I was using at the time. A great inconvenience to iracks, and i was all ready to give them a great testimonal.

Posted by iain-uk, 11-03-2003, 08:39 PM
oh and i think thats us hit 6 hours downtime now, im guessing they will have stopped working on it for now as its 1:39am in netherlands. will have 2 wait till tomorrow, perhaps finding another provider would be a good idea.

Posted by Venomous, 11-03-2003, 10:02 PM
I'm sorry to hear that you have lost clients. I have taken a server with iracks for testing the service, and i have hosted on the server only one my site, and now i know how they works....7 hours of dowtime! If is really the story that they are moving the serve to another facility, this is very incorrect, they haven't dropped an email to customer to inform of this situation? i haven't words......

Posted by viipale, 11-04-2003, 01:23 AM
Yesterday Adam Harris sayd that they have talked with Level3 and now I don't get in to the server.... bad. This was third problem with them... even rackshack was better. I'm not happy now.

Customers of iRacks, who were notified by iRacks that they were going OFF LINE due to moves to other locations are hereby notified that due to not fullfilling their obligations to Colinks Hosting, iRacks were put OFF LINE last night until such time iRacks have met their obligations towards Colinks Hosting. We apologise to the few who feel victimised by Colinks Hosting, but we stress the point that all is just beyond us, and definetely not our doing. Is this an official statement from the company? We need credentials.

Posted by Marula, 11-04-2003, 03:36 AM
No, Adam was trying the cheat us out of a deal. We were just in time to stop an ''unannounced '' move to other premises. Last edited by Marula; 11-04-2003 at 06:13 AM.

Any news?

Posted by viipale, 11-04-2003, 07:06 AM
I think I'll have to look over Atlantic ocean again.... I believed that EUROPE will beat the USA but I was wrong.... pings would be horrible again 160 ms -200 ms. Why Iracks does not even bother to say something in here. Maybe they just cheated us... they got our money but I will get our moneys back. Last edited by viipale; 11-04-2003 at 07:21 AM.

Iracks!?!?! Are You eating or something... maybe in some sort of accident or why You are not telling anything? Any news for customers? When servers will be online again??? I'll have to make something and I just pinged some servers in USA. Pings are 150 to 210 ms.... why I'm not living other side of Atlantic ocean. Last edited by viipale; 11-04-2003 at 08:17 AM.

Posted by Venomous, 11-04-2003, 08:21 AM
No news....this is real incredible...iracks guys are dissolved....i will wait other 2 hours after i will see what i must do.

Posted by viipale, 11-04-2003, 08:27 AM
It would be nice to here from Colinks/Iracks what was the full reason and what Colinks/Iracks did not do or did do... I will also wait couble of hours/days before I'll do anything. Then I will contact Paypal to get our money back and if Paypal does not pay back I will contact our creditcard company and deny the payment to Paypal. Please Iracks come back online!!! Damn those pings to USA are horrible. Last edited by viipale; 11-04-2003 at 11:52 AM.

Just to put your mind at rest, i have spoken to Adam @ iRacks and the company has not ceased trading, there is a current issue between colinks and iRacks, i know for a fact that iRacks now have their own space @ redbus and are moving equipment out of colinks today and onto their own network. Adam will be posting here within 24 hours, as you can imagine they are very busy at the moment sorting out alternative arrangements. and just to add i do not work for iracks. On a personal note, nothing to do with iracks, i will be glad to see the move off the colinks network as they are pushing too much through their peering line! as the openpeering routing always seems to go tits up!

Posted by viipale, 11-04-2003, 09:06 AM
JEHUUUU! Finally some info.... if Iracks is moving off then info to customers would be NICE! Maybe next time they will inform us before any big movements. Thumbs up!

Posted by thereflex, 11-04-2003, 09:12 AM
As far as i know, they did not know that colinks were going to pull the plug, i know there are some outstanding issues, but as you can imagine it is like picadilly circus down at the datacentre and the iracks team are on site doing everything in their power to move the 80+ servers downstairs to their new private suite. And i have also been advised that new transit providors are installing kit to get iracks online this afternoon. Will try and keep you posted as much as i can.

Posted by Marula, 11-04-2003, 09:21 AM
You can try tell the world is square, just to put your mind at ease: Adam can do what he feels he should do, but he'll never be back on line again, as far as Colinks Hosting NL is concerned unless miracles do exist ? All he has to do is PAY ! !~! ! Pay is the miracle word.

Posted by Marula, 11-04-2003, 09:22 AM
No dice !! There obviously is an outstanding issue: loads and loads and loads of money. Last edited by Marula; 11-04-2003 at 10:06 AM.

Posted by thereflex, 11-04-2003, 09:31 AM
As far as i understand they are moving off your network today due to these issues, i dont know what the issues are, but i dont think they should be told on this forum as that is highly un-professional. All i know is that iracks will be back online within 24 hours.

Posted by viipale, 11-04-2003, 09:40 AM
This is fun to watch... more of this word wrestling...

Posted by dcmb, 11-04-2003, 09:45 AM
I'll second that point. The issues are between iRacks and Colinks themselves and should not be discussed on a open forum. Knowing Adam and the iRacks team they will be working exceptionally hard - as always - to make sure the network is back online as soon as possible. I wish them the best of luck and keep my fingers crossed for a swift resolution . Give them some time...

Posted by viipale, 11-04-2003, 09:48 AM
YES I will! Pings to USA are so horrible that I will wait. Thumbs UP now!

Posted by iain-uk, 11-04-2003, 10:28 AM
any1 think we will get a refund?

Posted by thereflex, 11-04-2003, 10:34 AM
You wont know until you ask!

Posted by viipale, 11-04-2003, 10:37 AM
Well.... Let me think.... NO! We will have to ask it from Adam H. Last edited by viipale; 11-04-2003 at 02:27 PM.

Posted by GeorgeBH, 11-04-2003, 01:34 PM
I someone doubt we are going to get anything, their phones are turned off, I phoned and asked for a refund earlier and didnt really get anywhere, I also think the chances of your server coming backup are pretty slim.

Posted by viipale, 11-04-2003, 01:40 PM
So are they just cheating peoples money... I don't think so!?!? Let's just wait and Thumps UP! - Damn my typo errors... Last edited by viipale; 11-04-2003 at 02:45 PM.

Posted by viipale, 11-04-2003, 02:38 PM
All things are going to turn well! We'll have just wait a moment.

Posted by iain-uk, 11-04-2003, 02:59 PM
I think that if iracks can't pay for their network connection and are bolloxing customers colinks can feel free to tell the truth, ive had enough of companies lying through their ****ing asses just to keep the customers they dont deserve. ...ok so after my little rant there.... Hopefully iracks WILL be back online in 24 hours, maybe then we can all ask for our refunds, and they should deffinately hand out, after all they offer "99% uptime" and as far as i am aware this has been and will be a hell of a lot more than 1% downtime. 31 Days a month, 99% uptime, a day must count for a lot more than 1%.

Posted by Joseph_M, 11-04-2003, 05:16 PM
Adam's really annoyed about something, and he keeps hopping offline. However if you want to persue him a bit then you need to contact the registered office in Cardiff, rather than his old address on Kingston Hill.

Posted by viipale, 11-04-2003, 05:31 PM
I know that they are doing their best! We will just have to wait!

Posted by GeorgeBH, 11-05-2003, 03:16 AM
Im really not sure that they will becoming back online, Simon's phone has been switched off since everything went down an if you try to ring Adam you either get voicemail or its picks up and you dont get a reply.

My server still don't works...

Posted by viipale, 11-11-2003, 03:24 AM
And I am waiting IP for server...

Posted by jobvdsande, 11-14-2003, 05:22 AM
are they back online again? How would you rate Iracks without having had this problem? Did you have other network outtage? thanks in advance

Posted by cscertified, 11-15-2003, 09:44 PM
I am wondering what happened with this whole situation? Did you get refunded, or does anyone know what else happened? Let me know this is interesting. Opion: After reading the update by iracks I do not blame them for taking legal actions. The other hosting company involved should not have stop there access. If they wanted to persue this they should have done it legally and sued or whatever. But, by making it so irack can not reach there servers or help their clients is very inconsiderate and it shows how the colinks hosting company feels about clients and there services. Best of luck to bolth companies getting this situated.

Posted by Dreas, 11-16-2003, 03:31 AM
No offende but there a plenty of ways to "run and hide" when you're legally wrong. Especially when dealing with overseas businesses this is hard to control. If someone promises to pay all the time but doesn't ... and you're making hughe costs without receiving compensation ... I think it's quite logical what Colinks had done. But I am not related to both companies so don't know if this really is the case

Posted by jobvdsande, 11-16-2003, 04:38 AM
Well in my opinion... it's just like renting a house... when you rent a house, and you cannot or don't pay, you have rights too. You cannot be frown out within a month either... This i also what in my view Colinks has done wrong.... Especially with the European Union now having more power then local authorities, why didn't they claim the money they still got from them? Why did their actions have to make it impossible to do any business for Iracks? In my view, Colinks is wrong for pulling them offline... From what i hear from people at the datacentre in Amsterdam, Colinks doesn't have a very good reputation... Makes me thinking of the song now in the hitparade.... "Where is the love... where i the lovee...... lalalalalala" My support is for Iracks, and i hope they will have a swift and good recovery...

Posted by dbfury, 12-10-2003, 09:55 AM
Hi My iracks server has been repaired after their problem. But now there is a new problem: MY SERVER DON'T WORKS SINCE THE 6 DECEMBER AND IT SEEMS THAT THE SUPPORT TEAM IS NOT THERE.

Posted by jobvdsande, 12-10-2003, 10:19 AM
they are there, inside the noc... at present. I spoke to adam yesterday, that's 9 december, him being at the NOC in amsterdam

Posted by dbfury, 12-10-2003, 03:25 PM
Do you mean that my server isn't repaired yet because they are busy at NOC?

Posted by jobvdsande, 12-11-2003, 09:31 AM
well, i just know they are at the noc, present... that they are there, and very busy. I cannot say with what, or if you server is overlooked. just wanted to tell that they are at the NOC... so i don't understand why support on your server wouldn't be possible.

Posted by dbfury, 12-11-2003, 01:37 PM
My server still isn't repaired... I don't know what to do...
