Managed.com down...who'd think?

Posted by RHChristian, 02-11-2004, 10:56 PM
Seems that they are going up / down...routing over layer42 right now. I also saw ATT as a route, I hope they are installing those extra pipes soon...maybe now?

Posted by tail, 02-11-2004, 10:58 PM
It's not down, but there is extreme packetloss. Received = 77, Lost = 72 (48% loss)

Posted by RHChristian, 02-11-2004, 10:59 PM
Well yeah, down / up was what I ment...65% packet loss right now.

Posted by cyberultra, 02-11-2004, 10:59 PM
Not down but very slow for me.... I gotta move our main site out from them asap.... -CyberUltra

Posted by RHShawn, 02-11-2004, 11:08 PM
Lets all hope they go out of business after we all move so we can rid the world of another ****** company. 93% uptime last month is absolutely disgusting.

Posted by MADLaker, 02-11-2004, 11:17 PM
Slowness confirmed. Hopefully they MANAGE to keep it alive this time. Also, if this is due to upgrades I'm all for it, but where's the notification??? Their customer service is seriously lacking, not that anyone here didn't know that already.

Looks like they are back, 89 packets transmitted, 87 received, 2% packet loss, time 93030ms from The Planet server. Last edited by cyberultra; 02-11-2004 at 11:23 PM.

Posted by RHChristian, 02-11-2004, 11:20 PM
Still 53% packet loss from here...

Posted by MADLaker, 02-11-2004, 11:20 PM
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% lo Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 81ms, Maximum = 103ms, Average = 94ms

Posted by WoodShedd, 02-11-2004, 11:24 PM
i ttakes twice as many hops as it did last week :/

Posted by RHChristian, 02-11-2004, 11:29 PM
Routing via above.net again now...hope this stops happening daily.

Posted by cyberultra, 02-11-2004, 11:38 PM
they are back and fast for me now

Posted by DeltaAnime, 02-12-2004, 12:01 AM
They're back & I can ping them great (33ms from canada). One thing i find odd though, is that i can't tracert them o_O ~Francisco

Posted by RHShawn, 02-12-2004, 12:36 AM
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 273ms, Maximum = 286ms, Average = 280ms I should mention i'm from australia,i usually get 260ms.

At 8:55PM, all ports seemed to have closed. I still have an active connection to my server which works, but no further connections work. Not even managed.com's web server is working. C:\Documents and Settings\tail>telnet managed.com 80 Connecting To managed.com...Could not open connection to the host, on port 80: Connect failed

Posted by MADLaker, 02-12-2004, 12:58 AM
Down again it seems, anyone else confirm?

Posted by RHChristian, 02-12-2004, 01:02 AM
Up again, layer42 though. Seems stable...maybe they finally recieved the multi-homed bandwidth they have been talking about.

Posted by MADLaker, 02-12-2004, 01:18 AM
More troubles: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 1, Lost = 3 (75% loss) Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 99ms, Maximum = 99ms, Average = 99ms

Posted by DeltaAnime, 02-12-2004, 01:23 AM
I can ping them (at around ~100), but can't seem to tracert them Let's hope that lines coming, or i'll have to re-consider my hosting :\ ~Fran

Showing they're back-up on my end, seems like they're having intermittent network hiccups. Last edited by MADLaker; 02-12-2004 at 01:34 AM.

Slow, packet loss, high latency, layer42. AFAIK, Layer42 is their backup provider - perhaps another attempt at getting XO line commissioned? Or maybe just the usual low availability network we have come to expect from Managed.com...

Posted by MADLaker, 02-12-2004, 01:26 AM
Spoke too soon, now im getting Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 1, Lost = 3 (75% loss).

Posted by jasonl813, 02-12-2004, 01:58 AM
100% loss here to all servers

Posted by cyberultra, 02-12-2004, 02:08 AM
It's down now!! I'll move our site back to our own server once it's up!!

Posted by jasonl813, 02-12-2004, 02:22 AM
Managed had replied to my inquiry about their network upgrades yesterday stating that they were getting XO and it was to be live within a week, but I don't know if that is why they are having network problems now. I can't get past the first hop on dnsstuff.com or through my ISP.

Posted by DeltaAnime, 02-12-2004, 02:47 AM
Maybe it's a problem with the datacenter it self? I can't get past the first hop with my ISP even @_@ ~Francisco

Posted by phinsup, 02-12-2004, 02:48 AM
Hmm, I think you were their last fan too....

Posted by DeltaAnime, 02-12-2004, 03:03 AM
hah! I don't think i'll keep my customers on managed, but for my smaller projects, without a doubt i'll consider them. My host said they might be able to get me at the planet for a good price, so we'll see where that goes Routing wise, it's above both ways again, no XO yet. I tried hitting up UK based sites to see if i get the level42 thing like last time. Everything's aboveNET that way too. Guess we'll have to see. ~Francisco

Nice attitude

Posted by sockethost, 02-12-2004, 12:34 PM
I'm getting a Cpanel license error now that they're back up. God these guys can't stay up nor manage their billing system, what a sham.

Posted by Penguine, 02-12-2004, 07:06 PM
isn't that nice. They're sites up, but mine is down. Managed.com BLOWS. I'm sick of the downtime. I'd rather pay 50$ a month for a cpanel liscene and get a server from ait.com than have all this downtime. I'm sick of it.

Posted by tail, 02-12-2004, 07:28 PM
Mines up, have you contacted them about it? Then do it, don't tell us about it.

Posted by Penguine, 02-12-2004, 07:41 PM
' Its called an opinion. Why do people make smart *** comments like that? I don't get it. Is it just the urge to make someone else look stupid? Anyways, thanks for the comments. I hope they made you feel good By the way, if you've noticed, other people in this thread are having downtime. Whats the point of contacting them? They will just close my ticket just like they always do.

Posted by RHShawn, 02-12-2004, 08:50 PM
I guess you havent got over 5 servers with them cause if you did you would agree with me,your probably not even with them at all.

Posted by Synwave, 02-12-2004, 11:43 PM
You are correct...I dont have 5 servers with them...I have 1 and its for a personal project. All my customers are on servers with dedicatednow and I wouldnt even dream of putting them on servers with managed.com until they have been tried and tested!! I'm not stupid enough to buy 5 servers from a company that has rock bottom prices and has only been around for a few months. If you want quality - then pay for it!! Peace Synwave

Were are paying for it,managed were good to us till january now were moving to HE today as it seems managed are not gonna get any better. Were not gonna stay at managed just to save a few dollars. And since managed is now in the past for us i have no more reasons to post in this thread, good luck everyone hope everything gets sorted. Last edited by RHShawn; 02-13-2004 at 09:50 AM.

It was down for me for a total of 60 seconds a few minutes ago.

Posted by sockethost, 02-14-2004, 05:01 AM
Down yet again...this is becoming a habit with them.....big time.

Posted by cynix, 02-14-2004, 06:35 AM
it's up for me, but high packet loss once in a while.

Posted by ImZan, 02-14-2004, 08:47 AM
I had launched a ticket and asked them what the problem was. The response I got was that their bandwidth carrier was upgrading. IT didn't tell me if we were expecting more downtimes, only that line.
