I for some reason am pinging really high to them and to my box can someone else clarify if they are noticing any increases? I called and they said it was my end not theirs (or something to that affect) they are very helpful and I do love the 2 ring pickup Just wondering though if it is me or if other people are noticing it thx!

Looks like their router is just giving high pings, and their own server is a little laggy. I've traced/pinged other servers at ServerMatrix, and the other servers are fine. -Josh

They're loading fine, next time check alertra.com and see if its up there and use ping option on dnsstuff to see if its up there or dnsreport.com Probably its just you.

I have lots of problems connecting to my servers there. Anybody else? I am trying it from Spain. Servers are up but they drop connections after some commands in SSH, reading number of messages in POP, loading HTML code in HTTP, ... Nice regards.

Merged 3 different threads together - looks like ya'll are having similar issues. Also banished it to the network issues forum. Can you guys post some traces? I haven't seen any issues thus far today, pinging at 45-50 ms as normal. Edit: http://forums.servermatrix.com/viewtopic.html?t=4948 Might be related...

Hi, That is not a problem of SM, i have two servers with them and from Spain users of Telefonica Proxy Cache, cannot access any of the servers. Traces, pings, and ports other than 80 work fine, but no one can access port 80 and worst thing is that connections are made and keep alive, causing something similar to a DoS attack. Telefonica just said that there is "saturation" due to the very sad events of yesterday, but they refuse to send any confirmation in writting. Eugy

I'm in Spain too and using Telefonica's ADSL conection. I'm having exactly the problem you describe. FTP, tracert, ping, etc. work as usual, but browsing my sites is imposible, the browser just waits forever. However, if I try to browse a very small file (i.e. an icon) it does work . I can browse using other ports so cPanel/Whm access works fine. This happens with the sites on my two hosts. One of them is on ThePlanet and the other on Equinix. What I wonder is Why doesn't this happen with many other sites, like this forum or yahoo.com for example? Ideas anyone? Alberto

Alberto, i don't really know, and that's what is driving me crazy.. i have been doing all kind of tests during friday, just to find if not a solution, at least an explanation. I also realized that very small pages, made of just under 1 kb load, but not even the simplest .php page loads, it sits there forever, waiting. Maybe that has something to do with the bandwidth provider, or some problem with the routers of Telefonica, the only real thing is that it's costing us time and money, and they simply refuse to acknowledge they have a problem. So far, i have detected problems with ServerMatrix (their forum works because they have it in a totally different IP range), EV1, RackSpace, Equinix. Other hosters work without problems, like Nocster, LiquidWeb. Rgds, Eugy

We have noticed ths problem with some of our clients. They did traces from Spain and found that out of 15 hops to SM 10 of them was from one telefonica hop to another round Madrid.

I think this may perhaps answer the problems I am having too. My apologies to Futurequest! (Though I don´t understand why I cannot access the FQ homepage while I can get anywhere else albeit s-l-o-w-l-y.
