Theplanet and servermatrix is down

Posted by null, 07-28-2004, 01:00 AM
My server went down. Can't ping servermatrix.com, theplanet.com

Posted by Iggy, 07-28-2004, 01:22 AM
It was a hiccup. Less than a minute. Not long enough for my ssh session to be closed. Iggy

Posted by amzhost, 07-28-2004, 01:46 AM

Posted by theispreport, 07-28-2004, 01:50 AM
Maybe they were doing maintenance? Their sites are loading for me.

Posted by RobTheGolfer, 07-28-2004, 01:55 AM
Still down...

Posted by maxd gaming, 07-28-2004, 01:57 AM
I have been going to servermatrix' website for the last couple of hours continously while talking to someone else about a 'hosting plan' and they have been up for me.

Posted by Steven, 07-28-2004, 01:58 AM
My server didnt see anything as much as a hicup

Posted by pmcdonnell, 07-28-2004, 02:00 AM
Mine are working..... Regards, Phil

Posted by panb, 07-28-2004, 02:02 AM
Mine are working as well.

Posted by Ethical Network, 07-28-2004, 02:12 AM
It was probably just maintenance, but who knows, maybe they crashed.

Posted by panb, 07-28-2004, 02:16 AM
Looks like it was just a slight hiccup They both seem to be back and working fine here..

Hrmm.. My server seams to be having some probs.. Probably just a slight hickup, they're generally not too bad about this though.. Fixed now.. Apparently ATT has a maintenance window open till 0600 so it's probably something to do with that, not so much The Planet's network.. Last edited by lumbyjj; 07-28-2004 at 02:21 AM.

Down from charter.net cable but up from everywhere else it seems.

Posted by maxd gaming, 07-28-2004, 02:20 AM
Wait, how can all of server matrix go out? Dont they have seperate servers for each person? Wouldnt that mean like a power failure or something, and their power supplies didnt kick in? Or something of that nature?

Posted by lumbyjj, 07-28-2004, 02:22 AM
Who said all their servers went down?? I think that they were talking more about their website or just one or two (maybe small multiples) of servers..

Posted by eLiTeGuRu, 07-28-2004, 02:23 AM
Back up from comcast.

Posted by Argious, 07-28-2004, 02:23 AM
Not sure what's going on but it's been fluctuating all night. Half an hour it's up, and 40 minutes it's down for a minute. And now it seems as if it's completely down -- can't get to theplanet, orbit, or any of my servers. --Was able to get to them for 30 seconds just a couple minutes ago though. And again.. up and down.

I'm having severe problems with the ATT connection from my box. A friend of mine who lives three minutes down the road and connects through adelphiacom is having no such problems Anyone know if the ATT issues are being worked on? Chew

Oh, OK... sorry, guess I misunderstood, so most peoples websites didnt got down, but maybe a few servers died out... Whoa! 1 post every 90 SECONDS! thats a little crazy isnt it? Now I have to wait for like 70seconds...

down again from charter.net, just looks like some routing problems

Posted by ChrisTech, 07-28-2004, 02:32 AM
That would be why I cant connec to any of my servers. All the stuff is up (checked thru work's http proxy) urgh *kicks charter*

Posted by amzhost, 07-28-2004, 02:45 AM
man, it happens right on the time i desperately need to access my servers. Their site theplanet.com and servermatrix have been up and down.

Posted by WebzPro, 07-28-2004, 02:49 AM
Just got a new server from them. Just went back up.

Planet reports maintenance on an ATT link. So not earth shattering. Midnite to 3 CST (might've been 2) I think they said. Iggy

Posted by Nessun, 07-28-2004, 11:37 AM
Ya the last several nights the att line has dropped me for like 3 minutes while my route changes over to uunet and its been getting on my nerves. I hope this att maintence will fix this issue from going on.

Posted by sprintserve, 08-02-2004, 07:09 AM
Didn't notice any issues on my server there. It's highly reliant on the route.

Posted by lumbyjj, 08-02-2004, 03:07 PM
I've heard that ATT maintenance for the past few nights.

Posted by Samuel, 08-02-2004, 03:22 PM
/sbin/iptables -I INPUT -s 67.18.0.0/15 -j DROP The amount of crap coming out of that network has forced us to block it entirely.

Posted by TMX, 08-02-2004, 09:14 PM
Can you elaborate? -B

Posted by lumbyjj, 08-02-2004, 10:06 PM
I would like to hear about that too..

Posted by Samuel, 08-02-2004, 10:16 PM
There are servers operating on that network pounding some of our servers. So, we dropped that entire block.

Posted by TMX, 08-02-2004, 10:32 PM
What are they, spammers, or someone targeting you directly? -B

Posted by Samuel, 08-02-2004, 10:40 PM
Not targeting "us" directly, but some of our customer's sites.
