Hosting needed for opt-in php mailer

Posted by pixelknight, 04-12-2017, 12:41 AM
Howdy folks, I'm looking for a host which I can place a php script to which mails/texts 150-200 people two or three times a day. The purpose of such, is these people need notifications when financial oportunities become available. Problem is, these opportunities remain open for less than an hour. Some people on the list use it as their full-time job. Most hosting sees this as spam and having a hard time finding a hosting home. Any suggestions? Thanks again, KG

Why not use an external SMTP service? like Sendgrid, Sparkpost, etc (there's tons of them out there). You only seem to be needing around 15-18k emails per month, which are often included into the free packages of certain SMTP providers.

Thanks for the reply!! Does an external smtp service also let me send texts i.e. sending a mail to 123456789@tmobile.net and show up on my phone?

I don't see why they wouldn't allow such emails... unless tmobile is specifically blocking emails coming from some of these providers. You'll need to signup and test for yourself, I suppose.

Using a shared hosting environment is not the best solution for sending out emails in bulk. Try some third party providers like MailChimp, MailChannels, etc. You can host the script on your shared hosting, make the necessary changes and you should be good to go.

Would second the recommendation for MailChimp.
