Hello everyone, as the title said, I am looking for Canadian shared hosting; servers preferably located in Toronto along with being WordPress friendly if that's possible. My budget is $5-10 for this. I did a bit of Googling and am currently leaning towards choosing Canadian Web Hosting (that's the name). Does anyone have any experience with this host? Also, are there also any other good Canadian hosts? Thanks everyone.

Whatever you do, don't Google top 10 or best hosting. You'll only get a list of EIG companies that pay for reviews to be good while their service is often described here as poor.

I read many good things about crocweb here but i don't have any experience with them. You can search for reveiw about them on WHT

Im not sure they are Canadian, however you could try HawkHost? They have a Toronto DC and seem to be very popular.

Well it might be easier to look for host that provide services in canada than canadian web hosting companys. You could start in the WHT Offers section, make a list of canadian based hosts and narrow down the list by selecting those which fit your requirements better. As others above mentioned keep away from google top 10 lists and EIG acquired hosts, they are well known for their bad service and non-existing support.

Canadian web host = CrocWeb. As far as they know, they're 100% from the Maple Leaf nation and I've only heard and read good things about them on WHT - where they also have recurring offers (and a rep, but WHT is not the right place for that).

No! That's horrible/pathetic advice, listing several known-horrible companies (including EIG). @lurkersedge: If you want decent shared hosting, Crocweb was always fine for me.

You can find many Canadian hosting company, Search in google or look at WHT offer section. There is lot of provider in Canada. I don't know If servarica provide hosting and they have a server in Canada, I used them, For cPanel hosting look at Google or WHT offer section.

I can confirm we are indeed a Canadian company and now have a presence in a Toronto datacenter.

I second crocweb. They also provide higher than usual IOPS ( 5 MB ) I believe that would help a wordpress site more

I would strongly suggest you look into the offering section of WHT. There are some Canadian companies/locations at much more reasonable prices than the places listed in this thread (with all due respect). For what it's worth, I had a difficult time finding the same sites listed on google, they were 5 or 6 pages into "cityname" webhosting ... PS. You will pay a premium for TO. Better to look at Quebec

I had a WHMCS installation fail to load on 5 MB Disk IO. The more the better, especially for WordPress!

I made the decision to stick with the host that I've leaned towards (CanadianWebHosting) and everything's going great so far. Thanks again everyone.
