Posted by piney, 09-20-2004, 05:22 AM
Pings from PacBell about 400+ ms RTT with 30-40% packet loss, and pings from theplanet about 350+ ms RTT with no packet loss.

It's total down for me.

Yay, another BurstNet DDOS attack (or what they'll call it, regardless of what it really is). Looks like this one's been going on for an hour or so.

I have the same problem. My ping is on around 600 at present. They really need to get this under control !

Posted by thomas.smith, 09-20-2004, 06:10 AM
The ping is getting worse and worse...

Posted by toma1708, 09-20-2004, 06:13 AM
I have called them and I've been told that they are working on it. Perhaps they should also post something in their forums. Quite annoying. Catalin

Posted by thomas.smith, 09-20-2004, 06:14 AM
It is DOWN completely now !!

Posted by thomas.smith, 09-20-2004, 06:16 AM
Did they also mention the reason for the problem ?? At least my American users are sleeping now... Hopefully they are finished before they wake up !

Posted by whmcsguru, 09-20-2004, 06:18 AM
So you think they are. If they're smart, they've got something like alertra hooked up to their website which will alert them of downtimes such as this. It's sad that people still use poor providers like this, especially given the large number of downtimes caused by mysterious occurrences.

Hi, 1. No, they didn't mentioned the reason for the problem. 2. When asking for an estimation of the time needed to fix the problems, the guy told me the classical 'we are working on this'. Catalin

I have lost total connection with Nocster...

Posted by mithilesh, 09-20-2004, 06:36 AM
How long they will take , any idea ????????????

Posted by csnetcrystal, 09-20-2004, 06:39 AM
This is utterly rediculous 600+ ping times. I can get to my server. Is there a better internet provider I need to get another service provider. please contact me via PM

Posted by thomas.smith, 09-20-2004, 06:40 AM
My pings are still around 4000. If that keeps happening I will look for another provider. I mean yes, they are a budget host but there are other budget hosts with a perfect network.

On there forums it states: DDoS - September 20th, 2004 We are currently working to mitigate the effects of a large DDoS. We will update as information becomes available. Posted: 09-20-2004 11:36 AM

I thought they have a firewall ?!?

Posted by whmcsguru, 09-20-2004, 06:50 AM
Judging by their forums: In the past month, the Burst network has been down a total of 9 times, half of which are DDOS or "network latency" related. There are numerous "better internet providers" out there, check these forums. Just make sure that you actually do research on them this time. Researching BurstNET would show that this is very typical of their network. They're supposed to, but that doesn't mean they know how to administrate it properly, or that it's worth 0.02 . You're talking "budget provider" here, you can't expect non budget firewalls

This has been lasting for more than 2 hours

Posted by cbwass, 09-20-2004, 07:21 AM
Looks better now

Posted by thomas.smith, 09-20-2004, 07:23 AM
Yes, seems fine here, too...

Posted by r5x, 09-20-2004, 07:23 AM
But for how long?

Posted by thomas.smith, 09-20-2004, 07:26 AM
Well, during the last months it never took longer than a few hours. It seems fine now. I really hope they will get this under control in the future. Their uptime is better than it used to be but these issues must be solved.
