sagonet down?

Posted by Justin, 09-20-2004, 01:31 PM
My server there rebooted once today then went down completely, Is sagonet officially dead or something? Their website and forums are up yet my box is down. Anyone else having these problems? Regards, Justin S.

No, we are up and running fine, try to ping the IP before and after yours: example last digits .110 through .119 (ping .109 & .120) If they're up, those are the servers on the rack above and below yours, which can tell if rack / switch problems. If you can get to them, then it's server specific. In either case though, please open a support request, and provide any traceroutes you can so that we can assist you as quickly as possible. Thanks,

I have already opened a support request going on half an hour without a single answer back to wtf is going on! Seriously Matt I think sagonet needs some better techs or something this is going far enough, I don't mind when it is planned but seriously I am beginning to wonder what kind of datacenter sago is (another type like foonet with the jokes about it being in someone's basement?). Regards, Justin S. ticket #30022

ticket 32 minutes unanswered. <-- = time to go looking for a host who actually is able to keep their own servers online without needing to having customers constantly after them about their own racks

I can't be constantly dealing with these issues Matt not when I have email support forums and primary dns on this server for tons of domain names. Things stop resolving and people come after me. Your techs need to get priorities straight! Last I checked customers come first in nearly every business! Ok this is the last post you will see from me on this issue just get the damn thing FIXED

Server seems back.... shellz# uptime 1:03PM up 7 mins, 2 users, load averages: 0.00, 0.02, 0.00 for how long I have no idea as this is what happened earlier today too from what I heard of one of my clients hosted on the server. So matt how long am I up for this time? half hour maybe less....

Posted by Justin, 09-20-2004, 02:07 PM
down again. I am tired of hearing things after the fact would someone care to enlighten me about this?

Posted by PhMatt, 09-20-2004, 02:14 PM
If you'd like to contact me personally, that is fine, my contact info is on the board. The issue, is being looked into, and has been from 3 minutes past your ticket being opened. I can see you're visibly upset, and will work with you on this matter, but updating every 3 minutes to this board is not going to make things any better. I have always worked 1 on 1 with clients, but ask for hostilities to be removed when doing so. Please contact me directly if you wish to discuss things further. Thank you,

I understand that people are upset when their servers go down, and offered to assist. Staff members are looking into the matter as already explained. When the issue is resolved, updates to the matter will be provided via our ticketing system when it's resolved. The matter was not resolved when the server came back online, and is still being looked at. Thank you,

Hello, There was an issue in which a rack of servers was pulling too much power from one source. The power load has been distributed over several power sources now, and this should avoid any future failures of this rack. We are sorry for the inconveinence and the downtime. **** I have omitted the name of the technician out of respect, but Matt I suggest that you have a chat with Adam and get him to train your techs properly! He closed my support ticket before bothering to check if the server was even online and able to be logged into! Seriously this is not the way to handle support for any company ever. If someone had bothered to answer the ticket in a timely fashion I would not even be posting here. All i ever get on your own ticket system is bogus responses and the only one who actually showed a genuine interest in helping was Chris and aparently he was busy as **** that day as it took hours for replies back but at least it got me to the point of figuring out the problem!

can't ssh into the box so its still down in my books it may be running on your end but it can't be accessed from the outside world may want to try connecting from a place outside the dc. testing things before saying there up might be a good thing

Posted by Justin, 09-20-2004, 02:55 PM
1 hour - still down....

Posted by Justin, 09-20-2004, 03:01 PM
Elapsed Time 2 hours - right off the ticket. I am wondering how competant your electrical staff are at this point?

Yet again I find myself talking to myself (yet another of sagonet's known tactics that other people seem to have been forced to endure, ignore the problem maybe it'll go away). I am tired of dealing with constant hosts who don't bother to assist their customers. I might add I have sent a polite pm to Matt no answer back yet either. I'd love to know when these things will be resolved and business will be able to continue as normal for a change.....

Posted by Nessun, 09-20-2004, 04:29 PM
maybe if u didnt post here every 2minutes you wouldnt be talking to yourself. This is the NETWORK outages section of webhostingtalk. Not the your having some problems with the rack your on and they are working at it so instead of talking to them via support system complaining here every 2 minutes section. This is not the support forum for WHT so please discuss it with them in private and report network outages here.

Now there's a completely false statement. You PM'd me, I responded (and before this post) you replied back with the same snide comments I asked you not to send to me, and that post was ignored, but you may wish to correct your statement that I did not reply to you, or the MODS can check the PM's back and forth as well. I offered you my assistance, and that I will always give as best as I can, but I do expect professional courtesy, rather than rude comments and/or abusive language. Thank you,

Posted by Justin, 09-20-2004, 05:00 PM
Matt you must have replied just around the time i posted and yes you did reply back finally, granted now I have a server that only runs half of what it used to run before this outtage. Last time i had a reboot from out of nowhere it still ran properly. Anyhow box is back up after about 2 hours of downtime. And nessun so you don't consider racks going out downtime? then what is considered downtime? tell me that much?

Posted by Justin, 09-20-2004, 05:03 PM
And as far as rude comments if your people in sagonet did their jobs correctly and we (customers) did not have to deal with downtime nearly EVERY week this issue today WOULD NOT be happening. Take up whatever you wish with the mods here fact is my statements have held true they wish to they can call you and what not. I have put in a ticket half an hour before I even posted here. And I had no alternative other then to post here as the email I do have is on the server that was down at the time. Fact of this whole matter don't expect me to continue having services from sago if things keep going down every week like this!

Posted by Justin, 09-20-2004, 05:07 PM
Oh forget it this whole topic is falling on deaf ears anyhow would a moderator please remove this whole thread seeing it is not gonna help get a solution to the ongoing problem with this provider!
