Apollo Hosting: Serious Outage?

Posted by JenniH, 09-20-2004, 09:19 AM
The servers at Apollo have been down for hours... and support tell us there is an emergency. Investigation reveals there's been a fire in proximity of the NOC, and all power is out. That sounds pretty bad, to say the least! Anyone got more on this? We are wondering whether to cut our losses and leave at this point: there is no indication that this will be sorted any time soon.

When I first called there was a different message.. It said something about a fire at a neighboring business, and that they were not allowed to use their generator, due to the type of fire, but it also said they were told they might be back with power in an hour... Then the message changed and now gives no information.. -JM ...

Apollo Hosting ____ They are hosting my wife's Web Site for her small business.. She doesn't have access to e-mail since this morning.. (now it's 5:30pm here in NJ-USA) Are we doomed here ? If I want to take my business elsewhere, can they create a problem for me by not releasing the domain name or something - since it was registered through them ?? Not to mention all of our e-mails sitting on their servers... btw, their number is 512-261-1203 // There is a greeting message left by a lady giving no information about the Outage.. /EZ Last edited by zeybeke; 09-20-2004 at 05:45 PM.

Zeybeke: You need to read the following thread: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...hreadid=323232 Apollo host there. The 'good' news is that servers are slowly coming back up.... hopefully for a lengthy period! It sounds like it might take a few hours yet though.
