HB9.NET Gone????

Posted by jeffgtr, 11-11-2004, 04:50 PM
Does anyone know if hb9.net has closed down? Their website is down, all my sites I have with them are down, email is bouncing, and no response for the tech support email they gave me. They have been totally down for 4 hours now.

4 hours is a little soon to be thinking they might have closed down. You should always have off-network contact information for your host. You could try calling them +01.2402825620

I've always communicated with them via chat. Their website is down, they don't respond to emails. What is the phone number you left? I tried calling it and there was no identification, just said to leave a message. You would think they would send a mass email out saying they were down, their working on it blah blah blah. I'd feel alot better about it then. BTW their support email is diffferent than their domain, so it's still up, at least not bouncing.

Hmm very strange indeed, Do they state their address anywhere?

Their address is in New Jersey, however the phone number is wrong. They have been down now for 5 hours. No response from tech support however the support domain is different maxwebhosting.com when I send email to support it doesn't bounce but I don't get a response either. Maybe this is typical sometimes but it seems pretty strange to me.

Start shopping for a new host. Even if they come back they should have a good excuse for being down. If not give them the boot. If it is a genuine excuse give them a second chance and stay.

Fortunately I have sites on another hosting company that is reliable. I should have moved them while I could. Now I'm wondering if I'll ever be able to ftp in and suck down my files

They'd better have a darn good excuse

You don't have a back-up? Then I sure hope they'll be back! (I also hope you've learned a lesson about back-ups.) Anyway, 4 hours is rather soon to really think they're closed for good.

Of course I have backups over everything except database content for Thursday. I did hear from them, network problems was the excuse. To go 9 hours without contacting their customers is unacceptable though. They are still down btw.
