Acta Divina Down?

I haven't been able to access their site - or my site for the past two weeks! Is anyone facing this same problem? Thanks. Ryan

I had my mom call the technical contact number (I'm at university without a long distance plan) and she told me that Acta Divina has shut down permanently because of some security compromise thing. If you look up actadivina.com in a Whois, you'll be able to find the phone number my mom called and hear the message for yourself.

We have been trying to get in touch with ActaDivina's owners since Thursday (when the problem started) after a few of their local clients signed on with us. We had hoped that the owner would let us buy them out rather than just shutting the doors on their customers. Their servers are located in Vancouver (as are ours) so it would be a lot less downtime to just move the servers. If anyone touches base with Jon, let him know that we are trying to get in touch with him.

We too have been trying to get ahold of them with the influx of customers moving from them. No reply to the email on the whois.

Gary... I actually got a phone call this afternoon from them, I was quite surprised actually He was just responding to my voicemail and, unfortunately, I didn't get to the phone in time. I've left him another voicemail and hope that we can be of service to them and their customers soon. Nice to know another local trying to help though. It's really a shame, as they have been down since Thursday. A few of customers that have migrated are simply interested in what we are able to do about retrieving their data - and for that alone, I'm willing to keep calling!

I noticed a few of their sites have the home folder empty with a cgi folder so some server is up from what I can tell. My guess is that the HD failed and they need to rebuild from backups.

I'm not sure...when I first called and listened to their message it said that they were waiting for a new motherboard, then they had a security breach, so it could be anything

Acta Divina and Second Chapters has apparently been hacked. They're shutting down! http://about.secondchapter.info/quicknote/
