Anyone has any ideas what'd happend to Hometownhosting. Our sites were down again (3rd times this week). All mysql databases went down. Chatroom support is closed. I wish they could fix this problem ASAP.

Yes, I did. It's not answered yet.

Have you called? 888-886-HOST (4678) You can find affordablehost's contact information here

Is it the toll-free number? Even if I am calling from New Zealand? I already submit a ticket. Normally, it would take them about 12-24 hours to answered, which is not bad. I am not blaming Hometownhosting for poor tech support. I just hope they could email us what’d happened or maybe tell us what is going to happen beforehand. wish the same problem will not occur again and again.

888 is toll free for the US. Not for New Zealand to my knowledge. You can try emailing *PRIVATE DETAILS REMOVED* I'm quite certain she would not agree that 12-24 hour response times are "not bad" as they are quite terrible actually. Last edited by AussieHosts; 01-23-2005 at 11:18 AM.

Now!!! My websites are down for about 7 -8 hours and counting

Since around midnight CST MySQL has been down on two of my domains, both on seperate servers (or I would assume as one lists being on a 4 cpu system and one results in a 2 cpu system in cpanel's view status). I have put a ticket in to no avail, is anyone else having issues?

You may want to PM AH-Tina on this forum. I believe she either owns or works for AffordableHost.

Yes, it has been like that for several hours. A support ticket I submitted a couple of hours ago hasn't been answered, and their technical support chat is not working either.

I now have more information. Below is what I just told one of our customers: "Believe me, heads are going to roll today. Two things failed, which I can guarantee you will probably never happen again. First, there is supposed to be a script on the server that takes care of mySQL crashing like that...which may not have been added last week when that server went online. Second, our pagers never went off to notify us...which may be on Alltel's (the phone company) end, but I am definitely going to find out. This is completely unacceptable and NOT typical of our company." To the original poster...this is the first outage that this server has had, since going online last week. Any outages you may have experienced before then was from before you were on our servers (on the old Hometown Hosting servers). I apologize for this incident - frustrating all around! --Tina

Nice to see Tina and crew on top of the problem.

It's good to see our sites are back to normal again. Hope the same problem will not occur again.
