UnitedHosting

Bit concerning this. Yesterday there were problems with an individual DDOS-ing four of UnitedHosting.co.uk's servers and they seemed to spend all evening fighting it off. Tonight I visit all my sites and they are all down - as are the UnitedHosting.co.uk domain and the UnitedForums.co.uk forums. http://www.unitedhosting.co.uk Anyone know anything?

Can you get the UnitedHosting.co.uk domain? A couple of my sites are http://www.schoolhistory.co.uk and http://www.reviseict.co.uk I cannot connect to any of them at all at the moment - but can (obviously as I'm posting this) can connect to everything else.

Hi, Could someone else check for me... I'm having real problems accessing any of the unitedhosting domains: unitedhosting.co.uk unitedsupport.co.uk unitedforums.co.uk If anyone knows what's going on, please share! Thanks

Ah, just spotted the thread in the Providers and Network Outages and Updates forum. Nevermind!

I can't access the UH domains, but can access my own sites. Mail's not working though - always a bad thing when you're expecting stuff from prospects. Now I'm now sure whether or not a proposal I sent out today has actually been sent!

I suspect - just guessing - that a number of their servers have been targetted but unlike last night they've not been able to catch it. I wonder if this is something done deliberately to them or just bad luck. It is a pity we cannot get to the forums to see what is happening.

Hurrah - back up!

I suppose hosting the forums on another network makes little difference if it's the domain that's being attacked! Why-oh-why-oh-why do people do silly things like this? I was wondering why email had been so quiet today when I've got one business waiting to sign and another waiting for a proposal.

My suggestion was wrong though..... this has appeared on the forums: Further sign of what good hosts UH are. Also some of my users were able to access the sites but experienced difficulties. All back to normal now! Brilliant. I only posted here because this was the first time that I've experienced theirs forums going down.

A few people seem to be having the same problems, due to some web bug sending ddos attacks.

The web bug Tom talks about caused 6 of our servers to sustain rather bad ddos attacks. With help from the DC we managed to filter and get things stable again. The forums and support site were unaffected throughout as we use an off-network server for those two sites, please contact us through the helpdesk if you have any questions or queries. Thank you.

Sounds like UnitedHosting did all they can. Tips hat to them. Quality provider

Agreed.

It would appear United are having problems again. This morning I find myself unable to access our site, or any of the united hosting sites (including the off-network support/forums sites). Thanks, Alan.

It's not UH, I think: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...hreadid=369016 I can't see ev1 from my desktop using cable. Can't see our main server at ev1 so I'm currently working the helpdesk from my laptop with wireless connection which can connect.

Yes there is some 'emergency maintainence' going on at both DC1 and DC2 this morning. Nothing can really be done but to wait http://forum.ev1servers.net/showthre...threadid=52688
