SharkTech down?

Posted by Justin, 01-22-2005, 11:23 AM
Can't reach my server there, aparently others are unable also. The fdc website is reachable just not theirs so I am thinking their firewall has croaked out, anyone else having problems? -Justin

same **** here nothing works wtf this company does >?

Guess maybe it was not such a good choice my going with them after all. Course then again with IRC Hosting when you need to find a better host there is not many to choose from that are not severely pricey. Question, guys does this downtime really occur on average of once every two to three days? I keep hearing people saying that and would like to know. -Justin

Thats what happenes when they dont have physical access and have to suck up to the FDC staff to do their job

TheTrance - I gotta admit you may be quite right on that one. Heck they lied to me about load balancing firewalls with failover cause fact is some clients are up others are down. If there was failover the core woulda noticed it within minutes and re-routed automatically to the other firewall yet it did not and those of us on 66. IP's are pretty much all down still. I honestly would not be referring customers to this host for sure. Oh well we shall see what the future brings as I am sick of switching between hosts and all the dns and all the other crap I gotta update to do it. -Justin

so are they offering server shells or something to people to be able and run unlimited processes or just a single processes etc? and someone DOS 'em

Over 11 hours down now.....

gilbert to what we know it is probably not a ddos. The other day I heard word of a hard drive going bad in one of the firewalls yet again. Thus I am betting a firewall has either locked up or crashed, of course do not quote me on it as this is just pure speculation there. -Justin

Ok, guys this makes two days in a row now. 01/23/05 3:20 EST server has gone unreachable. Anyone else with the same? -Justin

same old **** different day, the same yoyo routine of it being up and down appears to be happening once more today. I am certain many other customers are experiencing the same as the IRC Support channel is full of the same people speaking about it like yesterday, this is more so just a notice to the wht commumity about the same issue ocurring so everyone is informed. -Justin

Well, would just like to update you all again on what happened as I have heard from one of their techs that the firewall itself has been having internal issues (bridging caused the outtage we had the other day the 8-12 hours one). Not quite sure what the remaining problem is and I won't go speculating on it either. We have been told that Tim the sharktech owner is aware of the issue and working on it, hopefully it will be resolved totally soon. -Justin

Wanted to update you all about it, aparently the one firewall did in deed go bad (the hard way of course). It has since been replaced with a new one and things have stabilized quite a bit now. Just wanted to say sharktech has done a good job bouncing back from this setback. -Justin

Don't jinx it! Yes, network is pretty stable now. -wong
