Affordable Host

Posted by JenniH, 03-26-2005, 05:23 AM
Our sites at AffordableHost are all down. The problem is that the ticket system isn't working, the chat is offline, and the telephone number tells us that techs will have been alerted for a server outage.... except their status page says all is fine. Great! Does anyone have any other form of contact for Tina or anyone else? We have an emergency situation and we can't get hold of them.

Still down: Time (US/Eastern) Checked From Result KBytes Secs Kbps 03/26/2005 04:46:38 Hong Kong CHINA Error N/A 30.03 N/A 03/26/2005 04:46:38 Las Vegas USA Error N/A 30.05 N/A 03/26/2005 04:46:38 Atlanta USA Error N/A 30.03 N/A 03/26/2005 04:46:38 Oklahoma City USA Error N/A 30.02 N/A 03/26/2005 04:46:38 Orlando USA Error N/A 30.02 N/A 03/26/2005 04:46:38 Chicago USA Error N/A 30.06 N/A 03/26/2005 04:46:38 London UK Error N/A 30.03 N/A 03/26/2005 04:46:38 Frankfurt GERMANY Error N/A 30.04 N/A Obviously Tina has a serious problem here..... I wonder if she is aware. Can someone else hosted there confirm their status? Does anyone have a contact method?

Suddenly it's all back up.... it must have been a DC problem as a whole. I wonder what it was?

Jenni, I'm glad that a user such as yourself is taking the initiative of checking alertra before making a post here. Good work!

Still no word from AH. I posted a thread of the network down problem in their support forum, but later got deleted. The ticket hasn't been answered yet. I hate holidays. Something always went wrong in long weekend.

funny that someone can delete your post but not answer your request, how do people get away with this, not that I wanna try it, but how do they do it.

First, the problem is fixed in reasonable time. Finally got the word that there was a slight network problem. It's just that I wanted to know what's going on. The community/support forum is not exclusively run by AH's staffs, so it could be a volunteer moderator who deleted the thread. But one thing I'm sure is I never do business with any company trying to trash others when there's opportunities. I haven't seen AH doing that so I guess I would keep doing business with them.

jenni im starting to wonder if this hosting thing was meant for you

I'm sure there is a reasonable answer to why this happened. Tina over at AH is top notch.

I beg to differ...

Jenni, Totally off-topic, but I just wanted to compliment you on that hosting reviews page in your signature. Very helpful information, and nice of you to make it available.

I used to work for Tina last year (AH is in my town). She is awesome, that's all their is to say. I'm sure that your problem will, or has already been resolved. It could have been a problem with your ISP also... I wouldn't have posted this here...

Ah no, as you can clearly see the user checked via alertra

Just to set the record straight, their support system is working as usual. AH's community forum is clarified to be "provided for customers to share information and help each other," not a support forum. And the support chat room is closed because of "a major project" and Tina is not able to closely monitoring the chat room because of "a personal crisis". All of these information can be found in AH's community forum.

Thanks Pete. I'll actually be updating it shortly. By the way: AH is a very good host. I'm not sure what happened this time around, but I do rate them highly.
