What's wrong with Serverdivision.com?

Posted by web_host_guy_007, 10-13-2005, 11:00 AM
There is something wrong with server division. Tickets are not replied as earlier and there are errors are not fixed. Their support desk is not accessible since the last 4 hours or so. I posted a support ticket nearly 7 hours back but no reply yet. Earlier I used to get a reply within 5 minute. I smell some wrong there...

That is from their website, they have a temp support form located at http://serverdivision.com/support.htm I hope that will help you

I used that temp support link and got a reply right away.

There has been a server crash and all available resources are being used to restore services on 1 server.

I host some my customers' sites on them. Our sites and mailboxes are not working for more than 24 hours. I have been getting lots of complains from my customers. It is very bad that they did not keep us updated for what has been up to.

I came to know that medium cube has accquired server divison. The previous support guys are fired and no body is responding to queries now. One guy responded and informed that they are working with HELM to resolve the issue. It is too bad to treat customers who trusted serverdivison in this way. No body expected that SD will be sold without informing customers.

this is ridiculous, the server has been down for 24 hours now.. i was told 2-3 hours... MediumCube must be a crap host, if they cant even get a server up under 24 hours. and then dont inform the customers of the progress... they even closed the forums so we cant post... sad very sad!!! anyone else here hosting with Serverdivision ?

Posted by LeftToDie, 10-14-2005, 04:52 AM
they even closed the forums so we cant post and ask for update, no response from support either.. " GIGANET : There has been a server crash and all available resources are being used to restore services on 1 server." and it still takes this long...

I think the problem is not the server problem itself, but the lack of communication. I feel that I am just being left behind getting complains from my customers. This is not the way to deal with the customer.

The problem here is the owner of SD (Milan) depended upon one guy named Nasir. Nasir was a great support tech and resolved queries within even 1 minutes. He left SD few days back. I posted a query yesterday and i was replied after 8 hours by Milan. But he has not done it correctly. My customers are shouting at me. Can we jointly launch a forum and shout against SD?

Posted by LeftToDie, 10-14-2005, 05:29 AM
its been 24 hours... the server isnt up.. i just want my sites up... i can understand 2-5 hours downtime.. not 24hours, communication or no communication.. i dont care, i just want my sites up..

similar probs here, no email for my hosted domains and no response to any of my email I have sent them I agree serverdivision should let their customers know what the hell is going on, especially if they value them

I sure hope you all keep a regular backup of all of your data. Last edited by anon-e-mouse; 10-16-2005 at 02:08 AM.

I'm a customer of SD and our sites and mailboxes are not working for about 48 hours. I am looking for a new hosting provider now.

The worst thing the new owners of a company can do is fire the old staff immediately upon take over. Change of ownership should be phased where responsibilities are slowly handed over from older to newer staff.

Very well said! I agree with you.

One question, GIGANET are you related with serverdivision? and for when is the server totaly online and stable. on the last 36 hours i sow the server 3 times working (aparentely) ok, with pop3 SMTP HTTP ina very fast way. sundelly become off line. I would like know from others if is normal a server goes on and off like that, in a "natural" Way. Also anybody have any information, about the company that took the serverdivion, mediumcube.com as far as i sow they aren´t so cheap as serverdivision.... with they raise the prices??? any clues??? Cheers!

Yeah, its terrible. What gets me is the lack of communication on the lies. I setup an account at JodoHost to transfer all my websites over and give HSPHERE a try. Hsphere is confusing but we shall see. And I am setting up new hosting for my Helm customers at Infuseweb. Tony at Infuseweb is great. I wish I could afford to go dedicated.

Hahaha - I know the original owner to medium cube. That was when it was a good host.

Posted by ChaoticSilence, 10-14-2005, 05:48 PM
GIGANET is the previous owner of ServerDivision. The new owners are MediumCube.com and i think they have not raised any prices till now, they are managing serverdivision.com seperately as a seperate entity. Also me and other support staff of serverdivision.com are currently in negotiation with mediumcube.com to resell the company back to us. We love our clients and want a better ServerDivision. The server that has failed is according to mediumcube a hardware failure which they are currently replacing and I have personally offered them free help on this, but currently the matter is in the hands of the planet according to them. They are trying their best. I will keep you all posted about new developments and will not keep you in dark if we get the company.

News::: serverdivision is back again, the damaged server is working now

Posted by Cirtex, 10-15-2005, 04:53 PM
GIGANET is the previous owner of SD and I don't think you guys will have anything to worry about, I'm sure Milan will take care of the transfer process and he'll make sure the new owner will be providing the same support & features. Give them some time to work things out with the new management team and I'm sure things will be back to normal in no time. Cheers

GIGANET (Milan) has disappered from the face of this earth with the money. MediumCube had a tough time dealing with The Planet, pretty lame support from The Planet support staff. The sites are coming back up slowly which is good.

Well i have been in contact with a mediumcube support Person (Tamouh Hakmi). I not know if is the Onwer if his a support guy or what BUT i can tell thta he made wel the point (and proved) that he cared with me as a custumor. IMHO i think they should before start The passing of company (right ater selling agrement as been setuup informed the custumors aboiut the changes, that was not happened... well tuff for us we got a shock/ semi shock. Other thing that was bot good was they close there forum and the last post (announcement) is dated form 12.10.2005. I will give a go to the new onwer but allways think that if something goes wrong allways have a backup/emergency solution Ie: a new host company for my resseler.

I lost 4 customers of $3000 worth from the problem that SD has caused. I cannot believe how good they are and will be.

SD keeps going down for the past few days ... time to move

Posted by tetra, 10-26-2005, 07:58 PM
I'm a relatively new customer with SD. My experience has been pretty good so far but I was a bit worried when I heard about the change of owners. I guess I'm lucky because I haven't had any real problems in the last week or so and the new owners do seem to be at least saying the right things in the forums and their broadcast emails so .... I'm cautiously optimistic. Last edited by tetra; 10-26-2005 at 08:07 PM.

The slow support and surging down time are signs of future problems. http://easymonitor.com/ tracks a 68.87% uptime for my sites, and they are down at the moment. Wait till this happen to you and you will not be optimistic any more. Good luck.
