My server just went down about 15 minutes ago too. Ive sent an email to sales@quickpacket.com I will let you know if I get anything back and would appreciate if you could do the same.

Posted by RDOSTI, 11-11-2005, 12:10 AM
I have a reseller with them and my site/s are all down (42 sites). Their site is down. Their billing gateway is down too ! Their support emails arent being replied to or phone numbers arent being picked up! Im frustrated... Had a bad experience earlier this week. First I paid them to get my acccounts on their server, their mysql wasnt compatible with my sites so i asked for a refund and they declined. then they fixed it up after 3 hours (thankgod)...then 3 days later the entire server/site is down...emails bounce back, phone numbers are busy or dont exist, and my clients are pissed off. This guy is Quick-Pocket..not packet...they stole right through my pocket! Peter, any news for you about them or anything? Let me know asap.

Posted by Rukas, 11-11-2005, 12:12 AM
... On hold with them now....

Posted by Rukas, 11-11-2005, 12:14 AM
Can someone from america call them? Im in Australia, all I can do is leave a message and I doubt they will phone me back...

Posted by RDOSTI, 11-11-2005, 12:15 AM
Rukas..same issue with me too...all you guys, PM me or I will PM you if "I or any of us" should get any new information regarding this ...seems like a scandal to me..one server down = fine...two servers down = weird...all servers down = scandal!

Posted by RDOSTI, 11-11-2005, 12:17 AM
Im in India..no chance to call them either

Posted by Rukas, 11-11-2005, 12:18 AM
Well, whats a reasonable explenation for this? Lets stay skandal free for now The thing is if their main site is down, their email will be down too...

Posted by Rukas, 11-11-2005, 12:22 AM
How do PMs work on this site? I cant seem to PM anyone... And i cant seem to post a link to Quickpackets profile... LOL... hold on I think this is my fifth post...

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?u=725 There, someone PM them...

Posted by RDOSTI, 11-11-2005, 12:26 AM
well how can it be that 2 dedicated servers are down...one reseller (mine) fine..cuz maybe im hosted with their site (Sadly)...but dedicated servers? 1) either their network provider is down 2) or we've been had One more issue...http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnstim...ket.com&type=A they are using a free dns system for their sites, ... this seems non-professional..why do i feel we've really been had.... i hope im just wrong but at the momment ...something seems really odd.

Posted by Rukas, 11-11-2005, 12:29 AM
Im not gonna say we've been had, Ive been with them for a few months now and all has been good, we'll see.... Anybody get any new info?

Posted by RDOSTI, 11-11-2005, 12:30 AM
pm'd them...waiting for a reply if they even do

Posted by RDOSTI, 11-11-2005, 12:32 AM
Ive been with them less so im worried...

Posted by Rukas, 11-11-2005, 12:33 AM
Question, has this happened to anyone in the past?

Posted by poncho2000, 11-11-2005, 12:41 AM
I've PMd them an hour ago and I sent an email to support@quickpacket.com, but no reply so far. The funny thing is that the email didn’t bounce back. I've left them voice mail, but nobody called me back either. I hope they fix this soon, or I'll have to move all my sites... I never had bad experience with them prior this one.

Posted by Rukas, 11-11-2005, 12:42 AM
Ive added them to my MSN and AIM but they're not online, we'll see. Poncho can I grab your MSN/AIM details? I just want to stay up to date...

Im back up. ^^ I dont know what you're talking about, but I host StreetHop.com on there and have never had any major problems. Quickpacket has been great and the support is usually spot on. For anyone reading this thread in the future considering buying a server with QuickPacket, dont let this little problem stop you because it really was just a speed bump in an otherwise straight road. Even with these couple hours down Id recommend quickpacket. Hope all the problems are resolved for everyone now.

Posted by RDOSTI, 11-11-2005, 05:33 AM
According to my last look the site is up my reseller is up - so i assume everyone elses is too

Posted by RDOSTI, 11-11-2005, 05:36 AM
Hope they offer us some free time or discount or something..but yeah as long as it doesnt happen again im cool.they should email the clients letting us know next time though so ppl like me dont panic and think they tricked n stole from me. As posted a reply in my earlier scam post ..I apologize to the company ...I was worried ...but its good as of now..hope so for a while more so i can be sure im safe . I wont recommend them for another 1-2 months but i sure wont say dont use them either.

Posted by ellery, 11-11-2005, 11:34 AM
All right everyone, Lets give QuickPacket a brake. Jeff Is a great guy. Quickpacket is a small hosting company. They do a great job with there resources he has. When you are in the hosting business Stuff happens. When Qucikpacket went down i called Cyber Wurx to make arrangments for connectivity. I'f you do not have a fail safe system Setup. Should you be in the hosting business?

Posted by RDOSTI, 11-11-2005, 11:42 AM
Well ellery, not to be jumpy again, but 1) If you expect us to have backup, shouldnt the company that is providing SERVERS for rent or resellers also have backup? The reason, most of us joined him/it is so we get reliable hosting or reliable service without having to think of backup or investing extra. 2) The main issue was that the company did not email any of us letting us knwo the issue till right now. That was unprofessional. And don't expect us to be calm when a host suddenly goes down without warning. 3) Jeff is a great guy - no questions about that. I don't know him personally anyways to touch that topic. 4) QuickPacket is a small hosting company. When I asked his support team on msn messenger i was told "QuickPacket is a large hosting company and have over 200 Servers..." ....lookie here...someone sure is lying....maybe ill try to find that conversation i had (hoping i saved it) and show you it... 5) If you don't have a faile safe system setup, should you be in the hosting business..good question..wrong person/s to ask. Ask the hosting company (QPacket). ---- I'm not going at QuickPacket or anything directly against them..I just feel your post ellery (just this one) is defending the host without him even explaining the reasons of what happened and why he didnt contact us..he may have told you the reason so your posting here..but he never told me or most of the others...so I dont think your post (this one) is really correct. On number 4 i stand corrected. But even with A 100% SLA Stuff happens. Having Backups of the Backups is still running a Risk. Trusting Someone elses backups is a risk. I have Servers in GA,NY,CA and TX. and i could still have donetime. but the decreases the chances 4 fold. True an email did not get sent around. I agree it would have been nice to know. But i would prefer to have the Tech working on the network issue rather then emailing me. But thats me. So fremont you are right QP should have more backup's but Sometimes you have to make do

Posted by RDOSTI, 11-11-2005, 12:03 PM
agreed. no argument with this reply Lets just hope things settle down now

What is this atl1.quickpacket.net? Is it normal to be down or ?

Posted by tigre, 11-11-2005, 07:44 PM
No its not normal for that to be down. That is the actual box that host my personal reseller account. I have been with them for almost 2 months, which is not a long time. Service is good, Support is fast but the downtime just experience is not acceptable. So far I have been happy and understand the nature of networks. IMO, they need another location outside that data center for clients to use as a back up location for information on the status such as failured core routers. Clients need to be informed. I also believe they do have automated back ups, I believe at 1am PST or something is happing to the web server at that time making it inaccesible. FTP works just not the webserver. I maintain my own back up and not worry if they do or dont. As I said, only been with them aprox 2 months and learning things about their service. Frequent failures will force me to move but for the moment I am happy with them.

Hey guys, During Thursday night, we had an outage that lasted from about 10 PM until 2 AM EST (-0500 GMT). I wanted to let you know that we are taking steps to prevent this from happening again. We are also looking into moving www.mypacket.com to an off-site location so we can provide you updates in the future that you can access in the event of some type of issue. For those of you not familar with www.mypacket.com, it's the site where we post updates about scheduled maintenance, network issues, virtual/reseller servers being rebooted, etc. I sincerely apologize to those who called and weren't able to reach anyone. During the outage, there was only one technician working, and he was occupied with trying to fix the issue. In addition, the phone system was not properly forwarding emergency calls - they went to an off-duty technician who had his phone turned off. We are looking into replacing our phone system because of this failure. SLA service credits are available as stated under http://www.quickpacket.com/sla.htm. If you have specific questions, or wish to apply for the credit, please contact us using the support ticketing system. Again, we truly apologize, and we appreciate your business. Thanks.

Posted by RDOSTI, 11-12-2005, 01:15 PM
Just after i had a fight on msn support about this and then posted at WHT regarding the issue, he posts here...trying to "prove a point" or "a change in heart".... this is as sly as it gets

Posted by Rukas, 11-12-2005, 09:14 PM
Dude, it was posted on mypacket earlier, hes not changing anything. Seriously, you seem like you just want to prove quickpacket sucks, if you think so, find another server! First you make a thread without even knowing whats going on calling them thieves now this? Find a new host, because you dont seem happy at all, and its getting old...
