Hyperspin Issues ? [merged]

Posted by brithostnetwork, 06-16-2006, 06:18 PM
Hey Guys Not sure if it's the right forum here. Hyperspin seems to be down all day to my location in the UK but it is up according to various site checkers. A tracert shows it seems to get lost somewhere at "The Planet" D/C... Anyone else having issues ? Obviously it's kind of vital that my site uptime checker is also up Liam

We see same issues. Their site/service seems to be down already for the past 12 hours or so.

Hello: Any else having trouble getting to the server monitoring service http://www.hyperspin.com today? John

Posted by cywkevin, 06-16-2006, 09:11 PM
it's running sluggish today with mysql errors. Possibly a denial of service attack

Down for us as well

Posted by Patrick, 06-16-2006, 09:52 PM
I can connect to the website after a while, but there are database errors everywhere. Hopefully they can sort this out soon.

/Subscribes to thread. I'm amazed this could happen, considering how many different servers they have up..?

Looks to be up now.

We faced some technical difficulties with our database server in the past few hours. This caused our website and monitoring service to fail. After careful investigation and troubleshooting, we have brought the database server UP, and our website and monitoring service have returned to normal service. This is the first time we encountered such a problem. We have a separate monitoring for our own systems but it failed to detect and notify us, which led to a delay in resolving the problem. We take uptime seriously as we understand that our clients' uptime depend on us. Please be assured that we have taken all the necessary precautions to prevent similar incident from recurring. We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused. Feel free to contact us should you need any assistance. Thank you.

We were rebooting the web server, sorry about that! Btw, traceroute will always stop after po2.car02.dllstx5.theplanet.com because our servers reject ICMP. Please let us know if you need any additional assistance.

I should add that monitoring was NOT affected during the reboot, only the website was unavailable for a few minutes.
