DedicatedNow packet loss?

Posted by ElrondTwg, 12-02-2006, 11:26 AM
I've been seeing a lot of packet loss to my DN boxes for the past few hours. Is it the same for anyone else?

Looking pretty stable from here in the UK

Same to one of our boxes (65.98.114.xxx), we're noticing like 14% packet loss.

My httpd server is down but my database server is up and i can ping the other server via the vlan. So must be network issues only in certain areas of the datacenter. Also cant access dedicatednow.com

I can confirm that there is / was a large DDOS going on that is being worked on at this time. I will update with more solid information in a short while. Thank you,

basically back up, but still intermittent packet loss

Posted by PhMatt, 12-08-2006, 06:16 PM
Just another update, but we're turning on the Toplayer gear that was scheduled to go live on Monday evening. I will post further information shortly as it becomes available to me. Thank you,

still getting periodic packet loss - any idea how long we should expect this to continue?

Posted by jayglate, 12-08-2006, 07:18 PM
Thank you all for your patience the attack has been mitigated. We will be posting a full RCA later tonight, in our forums.

Posted by buymywindowshost, 12-08-2006, 07:55 PM
hi jayglate - we are still having quite a lot of packet loss with on of our servers, and we are not able to access your support desk to tell you about it, since it is also having severe packet loss. How do you suggest we tell you? Sure doesn't seem like the issue is resolved.

Posted by jayglate, 12-08-2006, 08:20 PM
Sorry the attack is back, we are attempting to mitigate, this attack is currently only affect one segment of the network as a whole.

Posted by Cirtex, 12-08-2006, 08:34 PM
Sigh, seems like our main server is affected. Please do something about it quick. Cheers

Posted by buymywindowshost, 12-08-2006, 08:40 PM
looks like everything is down again.

Posted by asyrov, 12-09-2006, 12:18 PM
Just to confirm... All of my servers are still down (well ~ 50% packet loss), but they are aware of it so I am sure they will be able to fix it, especially knowing that TopLayer is place (for some reason I thought that it was activated earlier)

Posted by geekeffect, 12-09-2006, 12:47 PM
at ten pmish last night they said all was fixed. since installing toplayer (in a rushed schedule) things seem to have gotten worse. I am at intermittant 50-100% packetloss on our server. ThePlanets prices are looking nice, lol.

Posted by jayglate, 12-09-2006, 02:50 PM
The problem was fixed and came back. It was fixed for good a around noon.
