They where apparently doing emergency maintenance on Front Customer Router 01. It all seems to be fine again now.

I think it's over now, but in case you can't reach their forums: EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE NOTIFICATION Date: 1/18/2007 Start time (CDT): 1:00am End time (CDT): 1:15am Services affected: FCR01 ROUTER Location: dal01 Duration: 5 to 10 minutes SoftLayer engineers will be performing emergency maintenance on Front Customer Router 01 (FCR01) at 1AM. The FCR01 primary Supervisor Engine is experiencing hardware errors and must be replaced. Engineers will be failing over to the redundant Supervisor Engine which may result in a convergence of traffic. Since the primary engine has not fully failed, this failover must be forced manually. If the automatic failover does not engage, a reboot will be required and all traffic through the FCR01 will be interrupted for up to 5 to 10 minutes for a full reboot. SoftLayer Engineers have been working on this issue with Cisco for over four hours and this is the recommended course of action. Network Engineers are onsite and additional support engineers are being brought online to assist if you have questions. I will be online and in the forums if you have any questions. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At least I know my remote monitoring system works. I was fast asleep, and then "SQUAWK! SQUAWK! SQUAWK! SQUAWK!!!"

I just moved to SL. My server runs sites for less than 24 hours and here is a first 10 minutes break down. Did you experience this ? It was at about 1:45AM of SLs time. When I started to move there I asked lot of questions here about their network stability, but seems there are still issues and I'll never experience network uptime as it was with ThePlanet. Hope I'll see the next issue after months

It was posted in the forums

Sounds weird ! No downtime noticed here with any of my servers there, even the SL monitoring system didn't send any. Here is the uptime for one of my servers there : root@micro [~]# uptime 15:57:33 up 7 days, 15:08,
